You're not a GTA3 fan, are you, Nosgoth? I will play VC more, most likely, but I'll keep coming back to GTA3. GTA:LC is a good recreation of Liberty City, but it can't compare to the original.

I think it's probably easier if you tell us youur specs and we'll tell you if it will work on them. 0.4.1 has fixed lots of bugs, yes, but it is still a beta and so it crashes now and then. Also, I wasn't aware that there were any connection timeout problems related to any bugs (could be a firewall on your end or a router on the other end).

I believe that ASE offer an SDK to incorporate server browsing into games (like Gamespy does).

The easiest thing to do is to download the All Seeing Eye server browser (man, I'm going to love not having to say that when Blue comes out): http://www.udpsoft.com/eye2/index.html This application will display a list of MTA servers, and all you have to do is double-click them to start up MTA, then click Start Game on the MTA client.

Plus once all of the islands for GTA3 are done, they'll have a few more developers free to use for Blue anyway.

Same here. I would NOT like to spend time in VC trying to "build up a character". That is not what VC is about... VC is about killing, killing, killing, oh yea, and drugs Well... you won't like San Andreas then I think experience points would be good, as long as the RPG elements don't overtake the main gameplay (like Everquest, where all people think about is increasing their level).

I think that the money system is active, as money is shown in the screenshots. Notice that the Cop class only has one weapon, so there would be an incentive to buy more. You never know - island 2 may also be included along with island 3 in the next release.

Wow. I was only expecting a straight conversion of 0.4.1 with one extra island and a few bug fixes. I think a class-based system like VC is much better for GTA3, so I'm glad to see this, especially as I will still play GTA3:MTA when Blue is released for VC. Lastly, how come in the third screenshot there is no health displayed?
