Theres a song or two I really want (I want the version on the game which I cannot find anywhere). I have exactly whats needed to get them, I just need to find someone with the pc version. Thanks.
-
Yeah, kudos to the guy who figured out how to get more than one person in a hunter. That has been very important in 0.4.x since there are ONLY FOUR HELICOPTERS. Someone told me how to do that long ago but I forgot, care to refresh my memory?

Name register system to defeat dynamic IPs (Ban immunity)
Ransom replied to Ransom's topic in Suggestions
Master73, I have no idea what you are getting at, but before you go on, just ask yourself: does it stop (at least temporarily) a person with 2 ips from getting back in? Jakkass, great, but what are you gonna record? Read everything we talked about first. finally, gamebro, Everyone thinks blue will cut down cheaters, I agree. However, the problem is still going to be there. What about those people who simply don't want to die? I guarentee there's not gonna be any deathmatch servers (and even if there are) they are gonna go to where everyones invincible. Also, another problem is ANGRY people. What about the guy that gets pissed off and then shows off by warping all the cars to one spot or crashing the client and/or server? Then of course, theres the showoff brand of the above, just go in a server and show off all their fancy new tricks... blowing up all the cars, warping all of them to one spot, warping all the players to one spot... its amazing what bs they come up with. So I still think a ban system will be more than needed. Not being able to keep a client/server hacker out just kills servers. One guy just kept crashing everyones MTA client today in partyserver and then logged in with a different name, as everyone else was joining, it was pretty impossible to ban him, especially when he most likely has dynamic ip. -

Was it relatively easy? The other thing I'm getting at is, the team would have to explain the banning system most likely if something official came out, but if some script was made that secretly banned the MAC address or something, would cheaters be able to see that or would they just have to figure it out? There isn't a solid way to do it I guess besides what the pros do for counterstrike and battlefield1942 and such, which is check every now and then to make sure everythings not abnormal (I say this because the pros would use the method if there was one). But as eAi said, they are planning for the day when MTA team is gone, maybe the site is suddenly gone forever and they disappear, so if they aren't looking into a long, long term commitment, then thats not really an option. -
You JUST found the "More" option? HAHAHAHA

But do you think it would help enough to add it in with a simple script? If cheaters did not know that is was MAC address banning also(server runner would have to keep a secret), then it would be much harder for noob cheaters to figure out thats what is keeping them out, right? -

Well I'm glad you found this Aeron Opium is right about multiple emails registered with names, I had just thought about that today. I can't think of a way to prevent that, anybody? Some kinda way to not give it to a brand new email account? I dunno. Still though, we would be better off than right now. It would be MUCH more of a hassle for cheaters (though they probably have no lives and nothing better to do all day so it will still be a problem). If some of the more unique things Opium was talking about could be used to detect, it would make it even more of a hassle. So maybe it doesn't have to be foolproof, just too much of a hassle for most cheaters to bother figuring out/do. WINXP key is no go however, too much pirated WINXP, so same CDKEY for perhaps 50% of the population... What about MAC addresses and stuff though? MTA team has talked about it, but can you make a script check and ban with it Aeron? Maybe banning MAC address with a combo of some of the computer's hardware? Can that be checked? It would not be foolproof perhaps but combined with the login system it would take awhile just to get back ingame lol -
mm yea i was totally pissed off when they basically said.. yea you're screwed, we took over, can't use our codes cause we're anal. Sorry.

some suggestions for MTA 0.4.5 (vice city deathmatch)
Ransom replied to Toreno's topic in Suggestions
I miss helicopters, I used to get in helicopters all the time, now I hardly get in one every 5-10 games I play about 1 or 2 hours. Yes the spawn points are way too much concentrated in the west. Even more than before. I think East island needs to be used more. It would be nice if alot of spawns were. Mexicans... I think 75 bullets is not enough at all when lag is affecting gameplay (which is always). lag.. well ya always improve that I feel like cops are a little underpowered now, I dunno maybe a small addition is what I'm asking for. They used to be my favorite but are now my last choice. I'm okay with spaz, but I think it should be on that pier in the ocean, the one thats hard to land a helicopter on and take off, thats possibly the hardest spot to reach. Else in the middle of the stadium roof, thats very time consuming to get a heli ontop and back because it scrapes on the elevation limit. I really hope more players are allowed in the upcoming version, but my screen lags when its 10 people on a screen. Thats why spreading out more by random spawns and more use of East island is a necessity. Last but most important to me: I am getting one-hit-killed by robber alot now, I don't know what it is. They aren't even right next to you like you had to be before, when it was rare. Now its common, happening to me 5 times a game perhaps. I think it would be nice if the robber required a 3 shot kill, just so its more fair game to other spawns. Mostly all the pros use robber because its the best, no doubt. It needs to be toned down. I think most of the oldest veterans here are waiting for a break from constant stubby fighting. It has already gotten extremely dull. -
What is the point of blacklisting MTA modders ?
Ransom replied to a topic in General Blue discussion
You have caused lots of problems... but tell me, I'm just wanting to hear this answer from one of the infamous modders out there, will you still be trying to break the rules when BLUE comes out? Meaning trying to use different sets of rules or regulations in other servers not to your liking? For example a server that would become famous but not set how you like it? -
Is that even possible? and how would you do that? Yes he proved me wrong, read back you'll see his answer I think. If not the short version: use a vehicle (I can't remember which) and put it next to the entrance metal detector gate things and then ramp your car over the top of it.

Ransom replied to Ransom's topic in Suggestions
Are you talking about banned from all MTA Servers, or just banned from one? To be banned from all would require a repetitive tendancy to break the rules, you would think. But yes, to change all that could be switching computers and ISP's. Wich I don't think any of us here are rich enough to do. Well people could still do it but its the hassle of doing all that just to get back in I'm counting on. It would be banning only from a server you are on, not master ban list. That would not be fair because some servers have bad or unjust admins. But as eAi said, this perhaps still could be used if a good enough script was created. Maybe someone should try to get Aeron to make something of the sort. Else another great scripter. If it works out it would make one hell of a download for server owners, as long as it can work beside the scripts they currently use. -

Well I'm surprised to see so many agrees... I thought the idea would get shot down by everybody (esepcially like eAi or another team member... maybe not yet). -

Ransom replied to Ransom's topic in Suggestions
Well if we had a vote right now, I think everyone would agree less cheaters is worth a week. Perhaps it could be simply 24 hours at first, that would keep a dynamic IP cheater away at least for the day, then it could be increased as I said by somehow tracking if they have made an account before. If they cheat around it, they still have to deal with a 24 hour ban. It could even be an optional thing. So some people that wanna play NOW will get to play. But they wont be able to get in the registered name requiring servers. -
If there was some sort of system where you had to regsiter, which would be simply selecting a username and a password, but it took a week to activate, it would greatly reduce the dynamic IP cheaters. Especially if they know the risk of getting banned from their favorite server. Of course if they were banned they could still go to other servers, but they couldn't play the "haha I'm invincible cause I'm back" joke on a server because they couldn't use that banned name. If they want back in they will have to wait at least a week. The servers would have to have some kind of a connection to a master server or have an update every now and then so the server has a log of usable nicknames, and the people would have a way so that they can only login to the names they made (perhaps the mta client connected to that master server). Then of course when the server bans them that name would be erased from the list or something (making it easy to take bans off too). It would also be nice if there was a reasonable way to know if someone has registered a name before, that at least a majority of people couldn't cheat. Then they would have to wait longer periods of time to get a new name. I dunno, just an idea I had after an annoying dynamic IP cheater kept coming back into the Party server.

well i can't speak for GTA:C, but i know that GTAT can do it, because they've done it before. and the project which im going to betatest for, can also do it, but they preferred the other method. quote from infopage about blue: well if you are right, then the infopage is wrong, and it might need an update Well first off, MTA is much better than GTAT (or any GTAVC mod) has ever been, so why argue a switch? Yes I know you'll say thats just the fault of the GTAT team (and others), but its as pointless as you using this example in this subject. I can give one good reason, there is a certain limit on certain functions in GTAVC, therefore a totally stripped .SCM will allow more of some of some things of Vice City to be coded for MTA. As for that comment on the blue thing, you should also realize it says information can change at anytime. So you can't burn them on that unless they don't change it after BLUE is released.

lmao. With that and other... odd comments... this thread is officially closed maybe I'll remember to open it next year or something.
-
Hmm perhaps a edit: "fixed" on the news post would help stop noobage at this point.
-
Perhaps it could be Picture of the Month right now. Quite a reward, should make some more competition. Also, much easier to manage. I think it would help also if it were announced or quick-linked on the main menu of the site.

Let me be the first to say it with this thread, HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Hmm dang, I already umm acquired them from other sources, too bad this didn't come to my attention earlier. Nice find/mention though.
