I know im not the team but I know the answer. The only way is to pay for accounts, and MTA is not doing that. Anything can be changed, multiple accounts can be registered... the only way to prevent cheating completely is through putting monetary value on accounts to play the game or have a unique identification system for the entire Internet (which of course doesnt exist because most people cherish being anonymous to download warez, avoid rape, and act retarded ). The 2nd best thing that can be done is to annoy people by making it time consuming to work around ban. Cheating nerds have plenty of time on their hands though so, it doesnt help too much. If the cheater is advanced enough to work around IP bans, they probably can work around anything else.

Hm, cant answer that directly, but it was defintely one of our qateam maps. Most likely it was Harry who tested it by randomly uploading some map then deleting it. I can tell you that the first created race was by Kent. I think it was called 'bandito'. It was just some simple offroad thing. I'm not sure what happened to it, I thought Talidan converted/preserved it. Also, I stayed up through most of the first night of beta to create the first user map, Dune Buggy (man it was hard just typing sp sp sp sp cp cp cp cp in console and testing lol).

When you talk about GTA games and MTA you are talking about apples and oranges. GTA is just playing against dumb AI which most of us easily destroy cause they were dumbed down so much for kids, and the other is playing online and other people with tons of implemented features. MTASA has plenty to offer, even if GTA4 comes out. Unless it has multiplayer, there will be alot of neat things you can do with MTA that you cannot do in GTA. I bet their first mp will be pretty basic anyways, MTA would probably beat it in that case as well.

Its not dead, just sometimes key members are leaving and its hindering progress. This is a usual time of year for people to be AFK as the summer just ended. MTA has always been like this, people come and go. However, the project goes on...

i think there are programs that can actually close it for you, but I havent really find one I'd like to keep.

Believe me, we asked for all sorts of things before release, including this. It was hard coded scm. Thats the bad thing about not using scm, things entirely controlled by scm are very troublesome.

hah thanks, i knew someone would agree I think yours seems pretty accurate too. You do create quite a few things, but you do ask for lots of feedback. Running qateam ties into that as well I'm sure.

hm erorrs right, but that still doesnt make it much easier. I remember testing that on PS2, dont remember them being destroyed. They just disappear (from what I just saw on PC)

Everyone asks questions before reading written text. Its called lazyness. Happens on the internet, happens in real life. Ignoring people is the best solution sometimes.

It would still be 'ghettorigged', since as the guy mentioned above, you cant destroy them. It would be nice for the SDK if it was possible to turn them on and off. Then you gotta sync the projectiles too, not coming from players?... sounds like alot of work. Don't count on it.

I do agree that the question is asked alot. This is one weakness of removing the beloved 'progress bars' which can be seen here: http://web.archive.org/web/200406150519 ... mtavc.com/ Of course, people whining and constantly refreshing hoping the bars would change was not good either. It was not possible to measure progress. A good alternative was download links directly ontop of the news permanantly. You can also see this on the link above.

Idling in games sucks. MTA:GTA3 and MTAVC allow this and I always saw entire servers full of idle people. Usually admins trying to fluff up the server to make it 'look' full and attract attention.

I think its great, its got some unique styles to it. Theres 3 diff types of unarmed attacks, optional slow motion (matrix) advantage added onto each gameplay mode, and some amazing gfx. Only ppl with really good pcs should bother trying it. Me and error still play pretty much every night. If anyones interested, #fearmp on the mta-server/gtanet irc. /me goes off to play
