  1. sorry to hear that. yours was one of the first gangs designed for stunting. you need to get yer own pc, that way they can't stop you. ps: glad i missed the whole penis thing, no one needs to see that.
  2. heh, the whole thing looked like a "write us fanmail competition" asking a member of the community to write a review is like asking a religious fanatic to write an unbiased article about jesus.
  3. fistfighting doesn't work yet, but the melee weapons are always fun. if your on a server with only a few people, challenge them to a batfight, it's fun untill someone whips out a shotgun and the whole thing erupts into a stubby spawn war. also, something mr.bill, tankboy, and i did a month ago, we got someone to drive a bus, and the other 2 of us chainsaw dueled on the roof while it was moving. we even recorded it with fraps. man that's fun.
  4. it sounded like a fun (if not overcomplicated) game mode
  5. heh, been a while since another "thank you" thread was started. sounds like you pissed off a cheater enough for them to try and cause you trouble. to protect yourself, join irc whenever you play. and people will be able to tell that it's you that way by talking to you in irc.
  6. it is possible that a windows update has oozed onto yer pc and caused this woe. go back to a restore point and see if it works, or reinstall mta and vice city.
  7. a former member of vck wanted to start up an mta newspaper like yours, "nero" was his name. good luck to you. is this page going to be for reporting gang behaviour? like tournaments and such?
  8. oh, well if this isnt mac10, then banning that ip address shouldn't effect him.
  9. the problem with the nocd patch however is that not all are compatible with mta, and who knows, maybe there are side-effects. a virtual drive seems like the more foolproof way of doing it, but a crack definitly takes less space on yer drive
  10. i thinks the guys is confused. he doesnt realize you have to log in to view all the "other" threads
  11. you guys have a lawyer? or just someone who can speak lawyer rhetoric:
  12. i hope there's never a feature where people can specify their own ramps/car placement in their server. every server would be different, some completely filled with cheatahs and tanks, a bunch of ramps placed in the way so you cant drive by, it would be chaotic.
  13. theres a question, when in spectater mode, does the person you are watching get "packet priority", is more info received from them so spectating looks smooth? or is that not even possible
  14. go here http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=7656 for a lengthy discussion of just that topic. as of now, i personally own both games(even paid for both, stupid me) and i do not play gta3mta. i will definitly play it oftenon the next release however.
  15. i guess another way to explain it to people is that it's similar to "duel" in the jedi knight series (which is fun as hell)
  16. this may have been brought up before, but it hasn't been discussed indepth. anyone who's played quake online knows what i mean, but for those of us with a "?" above your heads, i'll explain: in quake: you join the game, select the arena you want to fight in, then you are teleported to that arena where you wait your turn dueling in the small arena. in mta: you join the game, select which area of the map you want to play in such as: -behind the cherry popper -inside the mall -the army base -the mansion -the different arenas -inside the airport -the parking garage -the construction building (either one) etc then you would be teleported there instantly equipped with weapons. and fight it out in 1on1 while the people waiting to play spectate. the trick to this would be to define the borders around the fighting areas, by somehow making an invisible wall so the fighters couldn't leave.
  17. i don't think that screenshots alone would be the best for teaching how to differentiate cheaters from lag. movies would have to be used.
  18. possible scenerio: nazgul could have had the names of player scrambled up, which happens when you join change servers without restarting vc.
  19. twwix, i've worked at a rental place in the past. 2 things: you need a supplier, and the cost of a new tape with a liscence for renting it out is roughly 70 canadian dollars (at least thats how it was a few years ago). the best way to start is to actually buy out a rental place's stock that is closing. i don't know of any "marketplace" for this, i guess you need to know people for that. my opinion: try and get some old movies, let the big chains handle the new releases. if you import japanese stuff, that's gold for the geeks, and try and get the cult flicks (jesus christ-vampire hunter ) i still keep in touch with my old boss, so i could hit him up for details if ya needed me to. of course, this is canada, so practices may differ
  20. heh, i told someone about the jumping thing once, he told me that it was cheating, and that anyone who "exploits that bug" is a dirty rotton cheater. i laughed, and asked him if he thought rocket jumping in quake was cheating too.

    WildStyle

DAMN YOU!!! now i have to scour the entire city for some hard to notice graffiti or other indication to see if there is a wildstyle. i've not noticed anything before, but i don't really stop to admire all the textures.
  22. it's not possible to land and exit at all on the other island? how'd ya manage that one?
  23. well, i like to keep all the ammo given to me, but i can see why it causes problems when your trying to scroll through the weapons. if the mta team develops a way for only 1 person to pick up the weapon, and the ammo to stay accurate on the pickup, then it would be a great feature to add to teamplay. otherwise, ransom's idea of just "destroying" the gun would be the best
  24. i remember in one of the early early releases in gta3, the fire left a trail of flames behind the car. man that was cool, kinda like back to the future.
  25. you mean they removed the fire because they were concerned about particles lagging others?
