yup, back in the day this was done with no scripts at all. the hunted person was asked to announce where he was every once and a while or people would just follow the radar. then mtama came along and manhunt was truly born. it evolved to announce waypoints and limit which vehicles can be used (no helis), and the "!hint" option proved useful. I hate manhunt.I hate chasing people to get a kill. I prefer people to stay and take their medicine

maybe you should wait for blue to be released before asking that. They have not made any comments one way or the other, but if the past has been any indication, theres a good chance of a bugfix release afterwards (not that they plan on there being any bugs )

thats pretty interesting being able to trigger police radio descriptions/locations would be great for a manhunt mod in blue. so Bump, have you found a way to trigger tommy's one liners at the press of a button? That's probably the first step.

are you people actually asking to be charged to use mta? There are way more practical ways of filtering out cheaters, sure it's nice to think of ways to make cheaters pay a price for being so lame, but the legal and practical issues it would raise would be horrible.

just incase someone reading this has a wrong idea: it doesnt take a modder to warp into the character select building, it can just happen.

actually we dont fight indoors for exactly this reason. we tend to use the backyard of the mansion for fighting. Its a huge property and we can be creative on where to hold up.

interesting idea. a first person shooter irc room. The novelty might run out quick though. Reminds me of old "rocket arena" style mods where people would choose which game arena you go to by picking a certain teleporter.

I can't count how many "VCK" gang have come and gone from mta. (overall It's not too original a name these days, but keep in mind we named ourselves before Vice city came out for pc let alone mta) I spoke to a few of them, and most didn't want to keep a tag already used. the trick is to approach them without acting territorial or chestbeating and simply let them know that there is an existing established gang. either they are cool about it and change, or act like dorks and keep it and either die on their own or get sick of being called tag lamers/being confused with the other guys. My best advise: you can't copywrite a couple of initials. Don't lose any sleep over it.

you need to go into a server and impress people enough that they want to join your gang. Don't recruit in a forum, recruit ingame.

as far as the question of if you can use an alternate skin, that is possible for the default character that you play as in portland and staunton. just make the skin, go to single player, select the one you want, then go in mta. Modifying the existing files is not possible, but using a skin addon is through the regular menu is single player. dont change it in mta because it crashes.

I have't seen one and I don't know a lot of people who are willing to map all the ramps. there sure is a lot of them. Perhaps you could make the map and share it with the rest of us
