the throughput is unpredictable. It depends on how popular your server is. there are way to many factors to be able to predict a days throughput, let alone a months.

although it's less cpu, It's still more than a server needs. It's a good idea to run the server on a dedicated pc instead of the one your using if it's possible. the other factor involved could be server scripts, they can be cpu hogs. overall the real bottleneck in your setup will be your internet connection, not the systems themselves.

MTA behaves different from other games you are used to. you just need practice. join a server without any "gangs" in it to get Practice. Also keep in mind that driveby shooting, the aim button,crouching, and the hunter weapons dont work on other peoples screens. make sure you are in the standard controls.

oh, k. so the server pc isnt directly connected to the modem. that would be the reason. ICS is sketchy at best. there is no good reason for it not working, it just doesnt. host the server off the pc directly connected to the modem. if that means swapping a network card, then so be it. You'll be better off that way anyhow.

so, the networked pc plays fine, the server pc is win98 and its the one connected to the modem, but people outside your lan cant connect. 2 things: -are the ports open for udp and tcpip? -can you host other games okay on the pc thats connected to the modem?

ah. That's probably the reason i could never find a trainer for single player to specify what ped skin i use.

ASE doesnt always show up right away, and some poeple have reported it not showing on the host pc at all. I am able to connect fine though, so your good to go

truth is that I'm not planning on making one untill after I get some real life stuff sorted out. I can't devote a lot of effort into a monthly comic or anything. Will there be another? probably. soon? no.

in case rebels rolling eyes werent enough, then heres the answer: you need winxp or win2000 to play mta. no, 9X/ME wont work, and no, they arent planning on making it work for them.

the difference is the way your put from 1 island to the other. apparently vc uses a different way that makes it possible to sync in mta. gta3 however cant be done. according to the mta team the only way to make it possible would be to have teleports to go between islands. there was a vote, they decided to do 1 island per server. the community has spoken

basically the only thing special about it is that you can get money for stunts and unique stunts work as well, which is great, but it lacks the ammunation radar (they all point to the portland ammunations) and any other improvements over portland. btw: the staunton ammunations that i have found are phils place, the ammunation, and the dojo. there may be more, i dont see em though

actually, sa doesnt have any changeovers, so If it works for mta, then there will more room than people can handle. due to the sheer size of SA, I'm sure the MTA team have some major rethinking to do. I forget how i voted during that poll way back, But now i kinda favor the 3 islands 3 server method. we get more cars and way morechoice of how to play. (though staunton is boring)

other games have done fine with the "/msg" if anything, the current pm system should be tweaked to allow wildcards, id numbers, and partial names.

MTa doesnt work on A school LAN network

I think he is saying that he can access it at school, but not at home, his IP may be banned. I would look into this, but my magical admin powers haven't kicked in yet. -
the dodo showing as a different vehicle should not be confused with a flying car hack. if you see a car moving slowly, perfectly still, or straight up, then it is probably a cheater.

you can jump in the water too, it saved me from drowning a couple of times already. -
okay, with the firewall off, and no router, we can forget that. -do you have a spyware removal tool? if not, get one and clean any spyware out. if you do, then you might have to reinstall tcpip or winsock. -can you connect to a server you host yourself? -heres something to try: with service pack 2: go into a dos prompt, type in this: ----------------------------------------------------------------- netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt netsh winsock reset ------------------------------------------------------------------- reboot, and see if it keeps happening.

yeah. a lot of problems seem to be caused by crossing islands already, and thats just with dodos. if cars could do it, then it would be chaos. jumping servers is the best option for now. if you want to explore other islands, the safest way is to do it alone, make sure the dodo comes back with you, and be prepared to restart your game afterward if need be.

yup, they said in blue that the diretx features are moddable, so this may be feasable (however kinda impractical)

-what type of connection do you have? -whos your isp? -is it going through a router? -what firewalls do you have? -is this every server you try and connect to?

dodos syncing on other islands is a hit or miss situation, there doesn't seem to be any good tricks for it. the biggest problem I find is when a dodo blows up while desynced (ie: on another island) then there are problems with the syncing of that dodo till someone restartrs gta3. Ever see someone flying a pickup truck like a dodo? It used to mean someone was cheating, buit now it can be caused by desync.

there was a person going by (DK)BiGViC in partyserver shoreside today cheating. Can't say if this is the real one or not, but thought you would like to know either way.
