  1. How can i set up a proxy server for MTA ? It's not recommended to play with, but you can only use Proxy in applications (like with MTA) using programs that cover your whole PC under it instead of only browsing. Then you're talking about VPN/proxy software, that lets your whole system identify with it (MTA for example too) but watch out, some of them cannot handle gaming. If you find one that can handle gaming/multimedia applications, expect very much lag and disconnects.
  2. https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=48868 https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=75696 try these solutions
  3. If your server is not showing, we know about this tutorial here that will usually help you out: https://forum.multitheftauto.com/topic/41659-is-your-server-not-showing-in-the-server-browser/ - please make sure to read and try it before continuing to read this topic. Sometimes it can happen the given first solutions will not work. If you cannot solve it at all, here are some last options that you can try as a last resort to fix your server's listing. (always first try the above information on that topic) * Make sure you checked the basic requirements of running an server accepting connections to exclude the possibility that it depends on the server/network issues: Check if your ports are open and functioning. If you need help on forwarding ports for your server, check here for your router/modem model-specific instructions: http://portforward.com/, and if neccesary supplement it with this guide: https://forum.multitheftauto.com/topic/115141-guide-port-forwarding-in-order-to-run-a-mta-server/ To ensure you have the right ports accessible for the config you're running (the ports you have set), open the server console and type: ''openports''. Firewall settings, if its an Windows server: allow/whitelist MTA Server.exe, both incoming and outgoing traffic. For windows: Make sure you aren't running the Server from locations that could give file/directory Permission issues, for example, like directly from C:/ or your Windows disk. Sounds unlikely, but if you have edited mtaserver.conf because you wanted to tweak settings, make sure ASE (server browser) is enabled: 1 -1- [Enabled, essential for your server listing] Last resort: * If all solutions provided in the basic topic (https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtopic.php?f=114&t=48868) and here above doesn't seem to help, then do this: Go to your client's Program Files > MTA San Andreas 1.3 > MTA > delete the file ''servercache.xml'' Check if your server shows up now, after launching MTA and letting the server browser load. After 24 hours or directly, if everything is okay, it'll appear now. If it doesn't, something is wrong with the server or its connection and you should check other options (forwarding, firewall settings and such). For that, refer to the first part of this guide. * Server still not listed? Make sure you checked everything that could be causing it. Open the spoiler before for a last-resort checklist. Make sure to only use this guide here incase the Tutorial for solving basic server listing problems didn't work and you cannot find another way. * Besides https://nightly.multitheftauto.com/ports/, there is another option to check if your server is broadcasting Server query listings, add the server on http://game-state.com and if it accepts the listing, and shows your server's details, it indicates that your listing is functional from the query ports already. If that's the case, then first try only deleting your client's servercache.xml as instruced in this guide, and checking again, before attempting any other solutions.

    Can't set x16 reso

If it stops working for you after next release/for those that want to enable x16 on Windows 8 in future; You need to go to Settings > Advanced, then enable Windows 8 compatibility fix: 16 bit
  5. It has been fixed, try this version: https://nightly.multitheftauto.com/?mtasa-1.3.5-full-latest Then go to Settings > Advanced in-game, and enable the 'Windows 8 compatibility setting: Mouse fix'

    Can't set x16 reso

For me it still doesn't list 16 bit res. I didn't have any issues at all until seeing the bug (and ofcourse since i'm using Windows 8 it also applied to myself) but the patch (and also gta_sa.set deletion) didnt fix it for me
  7. That was for after the 'netsh' command i listed (the change it makes needs a reboot) so unless you restart your PC after you won't know if it worked.

    MTA Crash

this seems to be a very old crash (1.3 users had it) http://pastebin.com/rCvNUWCR Offset = 0x003F190F i bet it has something to do with your configs/your PC/drivers

    Can't set x16 reso

try this patch: https://nightly.multitheftauto.com/mtasa-1.3.5-rc-6433-20140518.exe (should be fixed) tho for me (also Windows 8.1) it still doesnt display at all, say what it does for you.
  10. It's 1. issues with the files on the server, try this: cmd > (first flushdns as Woovie said) and then: ipconfig /registerdns (quickly after flush) after that, this: cmd > netsh winsock reset (make sure you run the prompts as administrator btw) and restart your PC
  11. If you just run the server outside in-game Map editor, does it then fully start? Program Files > MTA San Andreas 1.3 > Server > MTA Server.exe

    MTA crashing

You don't have an graphics driver installed (most likely the problem) Install these drivers: (and also the audio driver) http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows+7+-+64 http://www.filehippo.com/download_realtek_high_definition_audio_vista_64 Also DirectX update: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
  13. I think he's trying to say it's something with your PC (like an older harddisk/at the end of its lifespan) and not a problem with MTA.. however, do you use an ATI graphics card or Nvidia? and if ATI, which driver version do you have?
  14. Dutchman101

    MTA vs Catalyst

Try the newer version official release: 14.4 http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+64 and post back the results
  15. Could maybe be related to this here: https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtopic.php?f=105&t=73060 I will also try if that patch fixes the problem in the thread I linked above.
  16. No, it's fixed by default but if you still want to make the glitch possible (let players run faster this way) only then you need to enable the glitch that was added for it.
  17. @Krzo that's an older version Shamanas, 'realdriveby' is packed with MTA server default resource nowadays, https://mirror.multitheftauto.com/mtasa/resources/ If you fail to let it work, simply put 'realdriveby' from [gameplay] in the server 'resources' and refresh/start the server and type 'start realdriveby' in the console. It's not hard..
  18. Run MTADiag and post the result log's link (https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=31668) Install DirectX: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 For MTAdiag, install VC++ https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 Also check your Program Files > MTA San Andreas 1.3 > MTA > Core.log Does that file contain any crash/exception info? Then post that here.
  19. Dutchman101

    Hosting

Yes, easily but it still depends on the scripts you're going to run, (load) and the server's bandwith (not port speed but actual upstream) If that configuration is an VPS then for an VPS that's the minimum needed to handle 200 players.

    Ping Problem

If you are sure your Internet connection is the same, try it with 2 PC's and tell the difference, otherwise try running an internet setting optimizing tool like http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php [TCP optimizer] then as a quick guide, select: modify all adapters, optimal settings checkbox below It always improved my own ping and connection quality mainly with gaming/MTA but as issues with ping rarely are related to MTA here is this possible solution anyways.
  21. It's not someone's serial. It's an hash of the malicious files (resource) so that MTA recognizes it.
  22. Okay, that will be looked at by devs i think, if you can just include the most recent crash dump and upload it to a filesharer like https://mega.co.nz/ from Dumps/private i can see if it's possible to quickly solve it (if the dump indicates its an problem with his PC instead of an MTA problem) and also the core.log (crash info) from the last entry
  23. Dutchman101

    Error.

    Let him not just re-install but re-download MTA instead of using an previous installer. Then if it still doesnt work, let him take these steps: https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=31668 and run MTADiag (above topic), and link the results to here;
  24. Let him zip the contents of Program Files > MTA San Andreas 1.3 > MTA > Dumps > Private and upload it to http://upload.mtasa.com/ and put the link here, also include the core.log from the same directory.
  25. Yes, this is because of an Netcode bug. Sadly enough it is now the Main download, and I believe being worked on. Everyone downloading MTA from the homepage now, will get this and cant play. You need to use an older revision (take https://nightly.multitheftauto.com/mtasa-1.3.5-rc-6355-20140428.exe ) until it has been patched, and everyone that downloads MTA until this is fixed, tell them this, or wait for someone to revert main download's version before it gets mass-downloaded. Also the explanation here is just a reference for players having this, simple enough take this version to fix it: https://nightly.multitheftauto.com/mtasa-1.3.5-rc-6355-20140428.exe
