Eagle: your posts insinuating its a hoax or we are lying arent worthy of a reply so henceforth I shall not refer to them. Not strictly accurate, there are things that could be shown. Driving, movement, shooting etc. But trailers prove very little, they show contrived things happening in contrived ways. Requests for media are pointless, I'm sure everybody would like pictures every day, movies every hour, blue RIGHT NOW to play, but it wont be happening until we decide the time is right I'm afraid. And a few people aggressivly demanding it as if its some kind of right of theirs to see these things is far more likely to have an adverse effect, encouraging us to release no information at all. Basically if we require any advertising or public relations assistance we will ask for it, in the meantime let us decide when and how to release information, Thankyou.

The problem is that entering such places uses an 'is player near' check. We are limited as to how many of these we can use and as we use them not only for entering 'closed' buildings, but also for various other things, those other things along with more importnnt buildings, (such as the Mansion and North Point Mall, both of which use several checks each), have to take priority. So to have any worth you will need to change your poll to reflect this. Something along the lines of 'would you prefer to get into the rock concert rather than the mansion / malibu / vcn building / north point mall?' Would be more accurate.

A slow server shouldnt effect your game in that way, pings, other peoples movement, yes. Graphics slowing down? No.

So no collision even? just moving scenery? I dont think that would be very immersive, quite the opposite. Yes it is possible to make them react, its possible to sync those reactions, make them walk around a car and show all players they are etc. But that defeats the object. I.e. a simple way to include pedestrians, and takes us back to the same old bandwidth problem for massive amounts of syncing. If only it were as easy as you suggest, unfortunately it isnt

The hold duck and run one is new to me, thankyou for pointing it out. Looks like another reason to remove the ability to duck altogether for the life of this old core. The bike passenger one is well known and harmless.

And what happens when a ped gets scared by a car speeding on the pavement, scared by shooting, shot, run over, knocked over, has a car left by a player in its way, walks into a firefight? As you can see it wouldn't really work unfortunately.

Just to clarify a couple of things. As always the percentages on the progress bars are loose estimates. They cannot be anything else. Blue hasnt only had 5% progress in the last six months. This is basically Blue vII, a total re-write implementing some much more future proof methods and ideas. So we went from 65% (blue vI) back to around 0% then built up Blue vII to what we now adjudge to be beyond the old version. Much more than 5% worth of work I'm sure you'll agree. The next release of the current core is named 0.5.5 now as its more than a patch ,(Rebuilt staunton and stunt, all-new game design in DM as WELL as bug fixes). But not quite an entirely new version as the minor changes to the client itself and lack of brand new features, (gameplay changes aside), dont warrant it. So we split the difference to 0.5 and a half (0.5.5)
