  2. there are hundred, yes HUNDREDS of people playing it, and 8 people posting a problem. I'd call that an amazing success for such an early beta.

Occasionally the install doesnt pick up the path to the gtavc.exe, run the vlient with command line -resetgamepath (example: start, RUN, then type in c:\vice city\mtaclient.exe -resetpath) this should promt you for the correct location of the vice city executable and should run the game from then on.
  5. From the manual 'IMPORTANT: mta will NOT function alongside any other gta:vc modifications' Crack = modification. Buy the game.
  6. We would only 'patch' if something as equally disruptive as 0.1's 'vehicle exit crash' where to come to light after release.

  8. Do you have a joystick plugged in? one that is lying on its side pushing 'forwards'? You'd be surprised how many times people do and ask exactly the same question

The speedo mod i used to use in gta3 (long before mta) didnt stay on my pc for long, why? because it destroyed any semblance of reality when it came to driving the cars, the acceleration indicated by it was ENORMOUS, not at all realistic, having large speedo letters in the corner just showed this to be a joke. Iggy, there is no question of us deliberately blocking harmless mods, the fact is that many will be caught by the file checks and the anti cheat methods we have in 0.2 and beyond. It also does not sound promising with the reports of people experiencing severe increases in game crashes when running dracos speedo. There is also the factor that mta have a strict no mods policy, this is to prevent people from using a mod that they may feel is totally harmless but will in fact destablise the game and/or give them an unfair advantage, so it is rather disappointing to see draco post this when it gos against that policy. So i would recommend it wholeheartedly for use in single player, especially if you are curious in regards to what speed each vehicle can reach, and what speed it can take a corner etc, but please think twice about attempting to use it with mta.

    hmm, actually monkeydude it has nothing to do with having 2 people with the same skin, please do not give out misleading information. being 'invisible' is caused by trying to play the mod with windows 98, as you are not really 'there' to anyone because it recieves the data but doesnt send any to the server, essentially you are a spectator. You are always ths swat skin simply because you do not send the packet that determines your skin, so it defaults to player id 0, which happens to be swat guy.
  11. We havn't altered any of the weapons so rates of fire, accuracy and damage per hit are all standard. I'd suggest searching some gta sites for the info, or just standing in a server shouting 'OW that hurt me for x health!' and dying a lot

That is dropped packets, happens rarely, you client thinks u killed him so he drops the weapons, then it catches up and finds he isnt dead, so there he is behind you. but hey, free weapons! 2. Yes, they are illegal 3. Wait and see 4. It is more to do with the limitations of the game engine than simply 'allowing' more players 5. this doesnt appear to be a question
  13. It could lead to much confusion thought. Along the lines of, 'Hey! Who's driving the pink cheetah with the green spots on the roof', 'Hmm, not me, mine is purple with yellow cheetah print.'

    no other addons or mods should be used with mta thats why it says in the manul, the faq and the forums to use a CLEAN install of Vice City
  15. This is very strange, over 80% have voted yes, yet the majority of people posting their reasons are saying no.
  16. The hunters weapons dont work because that is a 'vehicle weapon' as is driveby shooting, we dont have this working yet tho obviously it is something we hope to include in the future. The sniper isnt in the game because it uses 'secondary fire' as does the rocket launcher. Again this is something we do not have working yet, and again hopefully in the future we will.
  17. mta2.wojjie.com port 2003 and mta2.wojjie.com port 2103 will be experiencing some downtime this week due to server upgrades. Partly in preperation for the move to the 0.2 server onceit is released. It is hoped they will be back up and runnning on new hardware by Thursday. Meanwhile mta1.wojjie.net servers will be online as usual. So don't panic when you cannot connect to your favourite server.
  18. Armour isnt diplayed. It doesn't need to be. All will become clear when you read the 0.2 manual.
  19. a 32 player is a very different game experience, there is MUCH less grouping together and 'hey, lets try this!' stuff happens on them, it is basically a hectic bloodbath, fun in itself but not as varied as the smaller servers can be.

  22. there seems to be an overlap between the new detonator drivers and the vc1.1 patch, both can fix a particular graphical problem, and each can fix other graphical problems that the other cannot. It is always a good idea to run the latest drivers, so install those, if that solves the particular problem you experienced in VC then no, you do not need the 1.1 patch. If however it does NOT solve it then install the 1.1 patch as well.

We held a fourth semi-public test today of the latest build of mta, (not 0.2 yet, it isnt finished), as you can see by the news post on the main site the new netcode is working nicely and showing dramatic improvements in the amount of upstream needed for a server. It was a relatively succesfull test, there are still some crashing issues for people that are being looked into as well as a few issues we where well aware of prior to the test that have yet to be resolved fully. No major new problems where brought t light today though and that is very good news. So it just remains for us to finish off the few glitches we have, and to hope that int he process of doing so we do not create any new ones It's close. Some screenshots from todays test.   25. People had plenty of time to travel around and equip themselves before the match started. So there was no advantage to VCA, one of your guys had time to travel across the city and get the hunter remember I see xenex, i thought Goat was SM leader but apparently not. Could you let me know who is please and I'll speak to him about a future match.
