VCA are in now that the silly 'if you crash tough' rule has been removed, BUT i have not yet had an affirmative from enough players, im hopefull that we can rustle up 7. This will be a good chance for our trainees to experinece the more organised battlefield. Note: I dont think this has been mentioned, but members of each gang should have the freedom to choose any career they wish and then meet up at a central 'base' in preperation for match start. Identification will be by clan tag only.

I think you peeps are missing the point, a tag showing the 'caree' would also be incorrect, as all 3, tag, skin, radar blip colour rely on the same informations packet, therefore all would be incorrect. As said elsewhere if you wish to play a team game then its as simple as asking all participants to do /kill then once respawned the skins will be correct. p.s. the racers are lovefist, so any of the 'rockers' is correct not a bug

It wasnt the 0.2 client, it was 0.1x with the first ever attempt at the player details. (0.2 does not work in any way on 0.1 servers), the client i used for adminning the official servers. It was very buggy so i was at risk of the client itself crashing at any time (which it did frequently) The only real advantage it gave me was the ability to see if any SM was cheating, as you dont have a particularly stringent vetting policy, (tho others have none at all *looks at VCP*), so you may have had a few 'bad apples', You didn't by the way, all was fair. As for it not having official support, goat was there and speaking for SM after you proposed the match, is he not one of your leaders?

You havn't pointed ASE to your new 0.2 mtaclient.exe. it is therefore trying to connect to 0.2 servers with 0.1

Health pick-ups are in the same locations as in the single player game. -
F2 should still save your replay, f1 or f3 will get you disconnected for trainer usage, as it is basically forcing the game to spawn vehicles etc in the same way as a trainer would.

I took the third option, MTA is still very much a game about freedom in the same vein as GTA. The different 'careers' can be viewed as soldier classes, i know VCA members all have their particular favourite that suits their playing style, the sailor for me, the robber for yourself loendal, etc. So a lot of team members tend to select the character they want and then meet up somewhere, using the tags as identification in any skirmishes they get involved in. This results in a well balanced team with short range and lng range fighters, 'vehicle destroyers' etc. It can also be fun to decide to play 'sailors v mexicans' or 'cops and robbers' and set the 2 pretty well matched careers against each other, but this is an entirely different way of playing, and is as simple to get going as everyone doing /kill and going to one career or the other. So the crux of the matter is freedom, choice, variety. Three things we will strive to maintain throughout the development of future versions. -

Pickups are few, and scattered. The general rule i tried to follow was if a pickup is close to a careers spawn it is of the same type as thier starting weapons. This prevents players spending 60 seconds and altering their arsenal entirely. Pickups distant from a careers spawn ARE of a different type, therefore with some effort and travelling you CAN create a more personal arsenal, ('customise' your character as it where). Pickups on roofs and islands, basically places where a stunt or a heli/boat is required to reach, are of a more powerful type, the exception being the movie studios roof,(number 5), as the robbers begin with a helicopter so it would only take them 30 seconds to get it. -
Come on now people. Yes, it would be nicer to have them on by default, but is it really that much of a hassle to press a single key? I think not.

I had planned to release this at a later date due to it being somewhat of a 'spoiler', but people have been asking for it and there is talk of others starting to put one together, so here it is. (Note: I moved #18 slightly after this map was made, it is close to the stated location so i left map as is)

Ahh yes that most definately does help seeing 380 kbytes/sec is a relief (I myself would refer to that as 380k, so u can understad i was rather 'gobsmacked' when you said 3500k!)

Every server advertised in #mta-servers on the mta ircd has reachable admin, including the official servers. No we do not sit monitoring them 24 hours a day, we do however spring into prompt investigation and take any action necessary when someone REPORTS a problem.

It will be released soon once the server bugs are fixed, as it obviously works in conjunction with the server.

i really dont see the point of this at all, an indicator to show someone is in the menu/alt tabbed yes, a speech bubble for typing? no. Most people can still shoot and fly/drive fine (gamepad users) And what is to stop somone pressing T to lull u into a false sense of security then hitting enter and throwing a nade at you head? If you want to carry out a long drawn out conversation then find some cover and keep an eye on the radar. -
I have a weapon pickup map from when i was placing them for 0.2, i had planned to release it a little later as i felt it may be too much of a 'spoiler' But if enough people would like it posted sooner i can do so at any time.

i agree rob, i asked for this way back when i first opened #mta-servers so i could add it to the server ads, but then as in now nobody was really sure how to go about it.

It is a powerful weap yes, but you have to get VERY close to kill in one shot, and you cannot of course move when firing it. I have clubbed robbers to death with my baseball bat while they have stood there swiveling round to try and face me. Also remember the robbers natural enemy is the police, hence the police have the armour. (ps, the racer class also have 4 hotring racers, 4 bloodring bangers and 2 sanchez at their spawn as well as the previously mentioned 3 pcj:) )

You could also try reading the manual and learn how to bind the keys ingame. (the 'advanced users' bit, presumably you view yourself as one as you felt you could go straight into the game without bothering to read it!)
