Wartech, me and myself, (me being that fruitcase 'me'), have recently been rediscovering the joys of gta3mta0.3b, wartech is slowly getting to grips with flying the dodo. Heres a couple of screenshots of me chasing him in the skies of liberty Wartech can be seen far ahead screaming with panic as he tries to prevent his Dodo from plunging into the ocean once more. This is a beta, a very early beta, the entire reason for releasing beta versions rather than keeping a lid on the mod until its 'perfect' is to highlight issues with it as we develop. Issues such as stability, netcode, playability, balance and yes, exploitability. Every release that gets compromised results in a more secure next release, we do not however intend to play 'chase' with those that choose to use thier skills for destructive rather than constructive purposes, and release a patch every few weeks. Rather, we take onboard the weaknesses and vulnerabilities and steer development in response to them. Using new methods and techniques to prevent the same exploits from being possible alongside the more vital structure of the mod as a whole. As for being banned from the irc you were not, you were kicked for the stupidity of entering a channel with a high percentage of people new to the mod and publicly announcing the url of a site where they can fill thier cheating boots. Next time I suggest a modicum of intelligent consideration before announcing such information, and a search of the forum before making such rediculous statements such as 'you... ignore the problem and pretend no one cheats'.

haha @ getting kicked for faggio. That never occured to me Ok firstly its an INSULT kick not a swearing kick, there are three things making some players mta experiences miserable (im not going to mention bugs, its beta, bugs come with the territory) and they are Cheats, those that cry CHEAT! every time they get killed, and the few who seem to take enormous pleasure from sh1t talking, personally insulting other players, many dont even go ingame, they sit in client doing so. This is not acceptable. There is absolutely no need for this behaviour and it is easily stopped, hence we are doing so in those servers that are official and represent the MTA team in the same way as the website, mod and forums do. As for concentrating on 'more important things' your argument falls down here, as the tool that is doing the monitoring is not being developed by a member of the mta team, rather by a skilled mta fan who wished to contribute in some way, working with suggestions and requests and testing from myself. To suggest that we are not making any effort to improve the mod itself is patently rediculous. Finally, if you do not like the stance the official servers are taking then simply play on another server. Nobody is forcing you to use the officials, nobody is forcing you to play the mod come to that. If you go to a pub and its got a no smoking rule, do you a] Moan and bitch at the landlord and tell him to donate to cancer research instead. b] smoke outside, or go to another pub I know which option I, and most others, would choose. *Go's outside and lights one up*

There are no limits for encoding bitrates or resolution, thats best judged by the entrants themselves and dependant on thier content, just remember it has to be 20mb or less with audio. It seems DivX is the way to go, a shame as Xvid can squeeze more in without loss of quality.

COPdamian, unfortunately you fell foul to an error with a new admin tool I am testing, it was banning the next player ID rather than the one selected. PM me your ip and i'll get it removed from the banlist.

Rather than moaning how about taking a little action yourself? Despite rumours our server admins do have lives and are unable to monitor every server every second of the day, all you need to do is go to irc.multitheftauto.com and ask for an official server admin and every accused cheat will be looked into and dealt with accordingly, as many are EVERY DAY.
