MTA:VC Reviews - Think you could be a PC Game journo?
Si|ent replied to Si|ent's topic in General MTA:VC
No due date, as said this is a friendly competition. Grammer is pretty essential, it needs to be readable The odd spelling error here or there isn't going to harm your chances much though. -
Is it just me or is that a random gathering of sentances that have no relation to each other or relevance to this thread?
-
I tend to agree. ASE is an excellent game browser, one that I regularly used for several other online games before MTA. Nice webpage but more 'my favourite servers' than a replacement for a dedicated server browser
-
Please send a forum pm to either myself, slush, kyeman or cray with the details. And thanks for having the forethought not to paste the details in public.

This is a friendly competition giving you a chance to flex your creative and journalistic skills, (or show that you in fact have none!). What I'd like is player reviews of MTA:VC, in any style you like. Imagine you are writing freelance for a review magazine or website. Screenshots arent necessary but if you do use them then please post only thumbnails into the thread, (you may of course link those smaller images to full size ones if you so wish.) Content is up to you, but perhaps a little history, first impressions, the community and future plans could be mentioned as well as the gameplay experience itself of course. Post entries in this thread. : Please note this is a friendly competition, there are no prizes, (Although I may be persuaded to give you a special forum title if your work is outstanding). Submitted reviews become the property of the MTA team and may be used by us in the future for advertising or contact emails, although we have no current plans to do so : Happy writing.

note that was an echo from the server, not riso himself Ok i have to post the following before someone else does: no, he was inside not on top inside Term reveals his hobby fuc.king noobs Thargore on facing the wrong way when getting dressed.... then you find out you have your underwear on backwards :-/ ....and the perils of not flushing regularly? ugh, too many logs The following was all said on irc today (not necessarily in this order tho ) NOTE: for some reason the forum wont allow black_dragon inside < and > (even in a quote!) so i had to reverse them

mtavc is not windows 98/ME compatuble. What operating system do you use?
-
A good move is to download the mod anyway, take a read of the manual and familiarise yourself with it before you play. This is something many people seemingly never do. Indicated by the amount of times i see 'how do i talk ingame' asked in servers It will also answer all of your questions above

Last I heard he'd gone into kitty rehab after some suspect furball activity over christmas. Hopefully he'll be purrified and willing to cats up with us soon

We don't have a spectator client, and never have had one. Not sure where you got the impression we did, perhaps listening to people who don't know what they are talking about?

We had a King Of The City event tonight to test the new script, and it's looking good. 14 players, all asked to stay as VCC 3 lives each, once lives lost you can regain one by killing 3 people in a row (without dying yourself) to a maximum of 3 lives one life removed from every player every 10 minutes to prevent hiding somewhere away from the action. Once all lives are lost players are kicked and not allowed back in for a set amount of time (1 hour or next round in tonights event) It works slightly differently to the current scripts in that it 'remembers' the players, so time outs and CRC timeouts, client crahses etc dont matter, the players score is saved ready for his/her return. Once finished (theres a few raw edges) it should be packaged with the next MTAMA update. [note this script is really only suitable for organised games, running it on a public server isnt recommended]
-
Seems you misunderstand the concept of 'Team'
-
ok, me and you aeron. outside, bags of mint jelly (jello for you americans) at 12 paces.
-
manhunt isnt a 'mod' in the same sense, its an official mta script for use with mtama, also an official mta tool. big difference
-
I did a 750 feet jump off a ramp in the stunt server. Helicopters RULE for stunting
-
It would have been a lot ruder if I'd come across this sanctimonious post before slush did.
-
Aeron: Yep, I know you are aware already, The above is aimed at everybody else to make it clear to them
-
Connecting as a player in NOT permitted. Thats breaching on hacked/custom client territory areas and could far too easily be abused. Be happy with the extra possibilities MTAMA has opened up and wait for coded-in gamemodes in future releases.

Spot the mistake

No no, gta4 is NOT the next in the gta3 series (gta3, gtavc, gta??) it is whatever comes afterwards, when they are out of the contract and pc gta no longer HAS to be a ps2 port. As i thought i explained above but evidently people still dont grasp it. GTA -Gta london expansion GTA2 Sony Contract starts GTA3 GTA Vice City GTA (unknown as yet) Sony Contract ends GTA4 <- Hints from Rockstar about new engine, will have multiplayer if rockstar choose Hope that makes it a little clearer

You write from the past kungfu? Neat trick. Names not William is it?

hmm *weeps for the missing prose and looks at what are basically dry war reports with '....funnyest thing i ever...' thrown in somewhere to try and validate them*.
-
hey lets start a war stories thread..no, hang on, this WAS one. Cmon peeps lets have some war stories, mine owns you! (Thats stories, not "It was funny when i fell out of a helicopter and lost 12 health.")

Midnight club 2 was treated differently as there was no exclusivity contract with Sony regarding it, it was released as a cross-platform title. The contract with sony is also the main reason the PC versions of gta3 and vice city where released so much later than the ps2 versions. i.e. It was a three title gta3 contract, not a general rockstar/Sony contract
