Idle kick is a bad idea in my opinion, people should be free to play without talking, and not forced to kill / be killed if all they want to do is drive around or whatever. Wait until future admin connections have more game state information

Wow thats some neat trick how he got the same ip as you and posted within 20 seconds of yourself, next time you create a pretend person to back up your posts I suggest you write 'his' posts in a different style to your own, as this was the glaring clue that made me check the IP's in the first place. Posting your topic was fine, everyone has a right to complain about how they have been treated on servers (although as it isnt an official server we are not responsible for the owners behaviour) but creating a fake account to make it appear others have the same problem will not be tolerated. Wether a certain person 'trusts' you or not.

Blokker get your facts right, or have you forgotten how to use the IP button , check the ips, both the same, the fact remains shes created another account and posted with it to back up what she is saying. Thats unacceptable.

MTAMA, (MultiTheftAuto Mirc Admin), is an addon for mIRC, (http://www.mirc.co.uk), that enables administration of up to eight servers at once in a single window, it features versatile script handling via standard mIRC scripting. The possibilities are endless, Auto kick on name, text, action, text flood kicks, vote-kicks, echoing server action to an irc channel, scripted game modes and more are possible. It's a game server not a chat room, you cannot scroll up thru the chat history as you can in other games, so having chat full of banal admin natter means you will miss those all important 'omg help hes going to kill me' calls. People judge a server primarily by thier ping on it, how many cheaters it has, how freindly the players are and how much better/worse the players are in relation to themselves. Admin are there to keep people in line not to welcome them with a warm towel and chocolates. Private servers are a different matter, but the officials reflect on the mta team as a whole hence why twenty random people are not allowed admin access.

Well you simply download the admintool (he gave you the direct link) then run it and connect in the same way as you do with the client. Differences are you enter the admin password (you have to set this in the servers config file) and instead of 'start game' you have 'kick' and 'ban'

If you are going to get upset when someone disagrees with you i strongly suggest you do not post polls on forums that are open to the public. footnote: nobody is stopping you from remaining on island one while other people have a blast tearing around the entire map.

!countdown as seen on the official servers is part of the mirc admin script that is being developed (allowing you to script responses as you would for a normal mirc channel) it still has a few niggling bugs and therefore isnt generally available yet.

Your experience seems the opposite to mine, back in mtavc0.1 many many people spent time travelling to the second island, despite the fact there where few cars there. One of the joys af gta is the large varied environment and the freedom this provides, do not forget not all people who join a dm server wish to fight, its free for all and that freedom includes the chance to hop in a car and cruise around. One of the things i love about mta is that every single session is different, a major reason for this is the size of the map and the fact people 'clump' in different places all the time. The map will not be butchered by cropping half of it off, once game modes begin to be added that space will be NEEDED to fit them all in.

Ok the deadline has passed yet only four completed entries, now we are considering extending the deadline a little IF there are people with almost ready entries that the holidays interrupted (present entrants would of course be able to tweak thier own in this time and re-submit) So please let us know as soon as possible if you have one ready/nearly ready.

Ok people thankyou very much for your response, as you can see a patched version is now available and i strongly suggest that everyone uses it wether you suffered the radar problem or not. Ok, we know many are suffering from this, bear in mind this is a beta release and beta releases are for exactly this reason, to show up problems. Now, to aid us in locating the source of the problem and finding a solution for you all please post in here. ONLY if you are suffering the problem. The details we require are.. 1 Your operating system (windowsXP, windows 2000 for example) 2 Do you have a router? if so what make/model 3 What location is your vice city directory (c:\program files\vice city\ or d:\games\vice city for example) 4 What location is your MTA directory? (\vice city\mta\ or c:\mta\ for example) 5 Did you uninstall vice city and delete remaining directories then reinstall vice city? (this is a good idea if not) 6 Did you uninstall MTAVC 0.2.2 prior to installing MTAVC 0.3 (also a good idea) 7. What version of Vice city are you using 8 Is the problem erratic or every time you try 9 EDIT: Additional, did u use the installer, if so did u allow it to 'create folders and shortcuts'? Post in here ONLY to reply to these questions. do NOT post complaints or simple 'i cant see people either' posts. This thread is for collating information. You may however give any other information you feel may be relevant. (other strange problems you are noticing etc)

Just to clarify something about the possible master ban list, entries would only be made by MTA team and the official servers admins (all of whom are deemed 100% trustworthy or they would not have admin in the first place) it would NOT take bans from private servers and include them, therefore you would not get some offended guy starting a server and banning a bunch of ips just to get them onto the master list. and much like the death penalty is used as a last resort when its beyond doubt that someone is guilty a players ip/ident would NOT be added to it unless there is valid grounds, so innocent gamers have nothing to fear from it.
