  1. Just because you're using a 100Mbit connection dosen't mean the game has to send 100Mb/s of data... 3 or 5Kb is probably all MTA needs to send, it's only position for 2 players (in your setup) after all.

    LAN games.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr! Read the god-damn mudderfudding manual.
  3. Not really MTA related, but get yourself over to GTAForums.com and have a look through the GTA3 & Vice City modding > Editing Discussion > Mission Coding forum. You should find everything you need there.
  4. Well with the amount of feedback they've got in the last 24 hours identifying serious problems, I don't think they'll be worrying much about adding gamemodes for a while!
  5. For people that didn't know, you can run forever by tapping your run key.
  6. ...or take the bridge. but when you get there you'll probably find the dot is inside the stadium wall. That's what happens to me.
  7. Same here. The radar blips always show 1 on top of a building near Mafia start point and 1 near the Stadium on Staunton.

    Races?

You might like to check out my Liberty City Streetrace mod on my site. It maps out three courses for racing, one on each island.
  9. And team mates always shown, yes?
  10. YOU'RE an idiot no im an idiot! No, I'm an idiot.

    MTA movies

You need to re-compress the file using an MPEG-4 codec such as DivX5 or XviD. These can make pretty small files with reasonable quality. It's a very good idea to resize the video down to say 320x240 while you're at it. Try a bitrate around 500k. A good program to use for the compressing and resizing is VirtualDub.
  12. Well, no car synch doesn't necessarily mean no traffic.
  13. Fraps is damn good though. And the upcoming version 2 sounds great, though not free..
  14. Well I can't make sure because I'm not part of the team , but that's what I believe would happen as well.
  15. Find your gta3 folder and backup the main.scm (in GTAIII\DATA) and american.gxt (in GTAIII\TEXT) files. Then replace them with the ones from the zip you downloaded. Ta-da! Install complete! Start a new game to use the viewer. As for the controls, they seem a little f**cked? Anybody know how you can move about? All I managed to do was move side-to-side, up and down and zoom out (but not in) and rotate at the same time!
  16. I think it's very important that game time is synched, not least for my Liberty City Street Race mods (plug, plug ). There may be a problem though with badly mismatched PC speeds? e.g. A PIII 500 128MB RAM struggling along at about 15fps vs. a top of the range Athlon constantly trying to beat the frame limiter..
  17. To be fair though, there's not much to navigate! Up with the original!
  18. I bet all the other multiplayer mod makers are kicking themselves they didn't think of the name Multi Theft Auto first.
  19. Check out GTAForums.com for map modding info, particularly the GTA3 & Vice City modding section.
  20. Just out of idle interest, what's with all the numbers at the bottom of the window, and the smiley bottle (meths? ) in the corner?
  21. Assuming the servers are still using those ip adresses, I'm getting about 130ms for the Linux one and 165ms for Blokkers'. That's from the UK on a dial-up connection. Just in case anyone gives a damn.
  22. Whats the 4th one then? MTA GGM GTA3T (not convinced about that one) and...?
  23. Thanks for the response guys, and apologies to Exterminator for hijacking his thread. For a gamemode I was thinking along the lines of one team having a convoy to get from A to B and the other having dodos to bomb the crap out of them before they get there. The convoy team could have anti-aircraft guns (rocket launcher) for defence.
