  1. I think he's after the "stealth bomber" mod, that changes the appearance of the dodo. I don't know where to get it, so if someone doesn't put him out of his misery, I can only suggest the magic Google.
  2. Keeping it as close as possible to GTA3 is definately the way to go, I just like to dig a little deeper into what could happen.

  4. Has this been tested? I only ask becuase it's not what I'd expect. I thought only position data was sent, so in theory the player without the loop would seee the one with it going round an invisible loop in mid-air.
  5. How about blowing them up, then when they rejoin you change their model to one with "CHEATER" written on their T-shirt and they can't fire any weapons or get in a car?

And I'm not sure it made perfect sense because I can't read half of it, it gives me a headache trying to decipher your strange net-english. I find it hard to believe you live in the UK to be honest, I know our education system isn't the best in the world, but you are really taking the piss...
  7. There'll be an option to totally disable voice chat, right? Because there's no point to it on a 56k. I'm getting a bit worried that MTA isn't going to work at all on dial-up anyway, but we'll see...
  8. Understood, I'd suggest you make a note of any potential cheats as they arise though, so you can deal with them when you're happy with the stability and other issues.

N we already know the copppers aint 'synced'.. i drove a dodo onto that player bug roof bit and killed em all.. i got this wierd arse helecopter followin me for ages.. Wierd thing is i did the gun cheat (Sowwy ...) and blew it up cos it was doin my head in then the stars went higher and there was road blocks and everything lol... but there didnt shoot. I'd suggest you go and look up synchronised in a dictionary, you might then find you have a clue what you're talking about... No offence.
  11. I'm afraid it is a load of crap Mosin-Nagant (did you get your name from 'Mafia' btw?). I believe IP adresses are first allocated by region, then split down several levels of organisation before your ISP gets its range, one of which it gives to each person connecting to their service. i.e you, or anyone running an MTA server. If you take a look at the GGM serverlist you'll see how they vary around the world. The only way a program would be selective about what addresses it can work with/connect to is if was specifically written that way, which MTA obviousely isn't. Hope that helps.
  12. Unfortunately this is just one of the many ways you can cheat with a bit of modding, at the moment. I'd suggest some kind of CRC check on the handling.cfg to ensure everyone playing has the original file. Anyone who doesn't, can't play! There's probably ways round it, but it will prevent a lot of casual cheating and should work for other files that could be altered to give an advantage, eg fistfite.dat and weapon.dat.
  13. There's probably far too much to implement in one server option there in terms of time spent coding it, but I do think some of the ideas could work very well in different game modes. There is a Dodo bomber mod available for single player GAT3.
  14. You probably did die, but at the moment damage to cars is not shown, so you don't know you're in trouble until too late. There's posts about this already, have a look around the forum..

    Ok, just kind of thinking out loud... The chopper is likely to go after the person doing the most killing because they'd have the highest wanted level, right? So... It would function as a kind of handicap for better players. If you were doing well and killing lots of people, you'd get the Chopper coming along to cramp your style. It would certainly help to stop people camping. Although I suppose you'd need to sync the helis then as well.. I've noticed you can get the army out as well, just by blowing up a few choppers. They act really strangely though, only using their handguns and not the assault rifle.

    A lot of the tops of the buildings in GTA3 (most?) are not solid, and were never intended to be, so they're pretty hard to land on...

  18. You don't need to be anally retententive to be bugged by a manual with that many mistakes! I would have done it myself but I'm too lazy. I'd assumed you had no native English speakers on the team but the news page does now seem to be much improved. I also don't wish to sound like a b*tch but you shouldn't underestimate how important good English is in presenting a professional appearance for your project.
  19. Calm down newbinator, he's just trying to get a LAN game going. There's relatively few posts about LAN setup on here and he's made some valid points with a reasonable attitude. e.g. he's not calling ppl "fukin retards"...
  20. How about actually reading some posts before you start whining, so you can see the state of development as it stands? Or is there no fun in that...?????
  21. I don't think you need to use ASE on a LAN, you just type in the IP address of the machine running the server.

    It's in your GTA3 directory, MTA.pdf is it's name. You need Acrobat reader to view it.
