  3. yes i thot of most of those ideas from Vice City, which i have for ps2. btw, have you ever tried apache dog figts with police helis? pretty fun. im not sure if you'd call it a dog fight, tho, because its not in a plane.
  4. sounds sweet. now lets add a machine gun as well. and then mod the heli's till they fly. and add weapons to those. and make them cary many people. and the dodo need to be a sea-plane, like the skipper. and there should be an apache. and a submarine. and motorcycles, and mopeds. etc. anyway i hope they add ur mod to gta3:mta
  5. um.. it would be too hard to do it by yourself. if .03 still uses alt-f12 (i seriuosly dought that it wont) but you could just leave your pc with a broadband connection on, start as server, and give your self invinciblity. then in the backround, you could program a simple vb program that sends the Alt-F12 event ever 5 minutes. that way, once you connect you just have to wait five mins to play.. if you hit escape and quit, then it leaves your gap to be filled by the next player.. i dont think it will be that easy in .03 tho. that would be sweet tho. espically if you could expand it past 30. there would be no need for taffic or ped, all the cars and people you'd see would be real players.. on a tehinical note: its possible to create and array of winsocks (connection in which mta uses) so if it were possible to resize the buffer through vb code, then the only limit of the number of players is ram that pc has, right? if you could have somthing like that running on 1GB ram, T1 connection, (yay t1) and have it special so that it does not sync all the players, just the ones in the donut ("bubble" as mentioned in prievious posts) then it would be possible. still T1 = uber expensive

I think the subject of this thread says enough. after all, one of the great things about gta3, its the minigames, the ability to do so much more than just missions and ramapges. so instead of dropping them, we should mod them here are some ideas: 1) FireTeam: each person has a fire truck, and the fires are synced, so each play has to go out and put out the fire, because the fires are random, it will be like a race to the fire. the truck that puts it out gets a point 2) Hospital Union: each person gets an ambulance, and assigned a hospital.. they can devliver patients to any hosiptal, but that hopsital gets the points for saving those people.. so obviously you want to deliver to your team's hospital, rather than otherwise 3)Cops N Robbers: this has been mentioned on like 20 billion other threads umm is there any other mini's im forgetting? anyway those are my ideas to include the minigames... crazy taxi is fun, why not make Crazy Taxi Liberty City? or RUSH 4: Streets of Liberty City? well im out
  9. my question is: has anyone notified R* of this? i mean if they dont surf the web constantaly for new homebrewed developements about their games, then they dont know it exists. I suppose someone in the DevTeam for GtaMta probably did\tried to contact R*... so i think that maybe we ALL should email them asking: just to include mp in the firsrt place, we're so desperate were making it for our selves, and second: if not then add the unused lines of code. the reason why i say "add the unused lines of code" is because the original gta3 was made for PS2, ported to pc. during the port they ADDED the mp code. however GTAVC is a (neerly) completely rewritten verion of the GTA3 engine. therfore GTA3PS2-->GTAVCPS2-->GTAVCPC this means that rather than rewrtinging the GTA3PC engine, they probably port GTAVC to PC, this means that there is no mp code.. unless they add it again, like they did in the porting of GTA3. and even still it will be different code. since gta3 is not mp, my guess is that they wont bother with VC at all. i base this on the fact that: 1) R* gave up on mp for gta3 because they saw all the same problemes that GTA3:MTA are having. 2) It takes R* forever to port games, let alone add MP compatability 3) VC is more complex than 3, so making MP is even harder 4) I personally think may 12 is way to early to see MP, then again if they started during gta3, then they might have it finished by now.. ready to include with VCPC *forgive spelling errors i type fast, but dont pay attention.
  10. Yes, the AdminConsole is better, but i cant get it to work on my gta3. i never could get the original mta working either.. so thats why i dont talk about the console, but yes its much better if it works

AngentXen is right.. if the MTA team does nothing about them, then you will move really slowly on other peoples screens... they will move at normal speed. on your screen they will also move at normal speed, as well as other cars.. so the only thing they will do is make you slow down in your game, and on other's screens. nothing else. Not that much of an advantage.

Ya.. i originally posted that.. thanx for listining and updataing it. btw: the way i mentioned it: use ultimate trainer 3.5 to give youself "solid granite car" and it comes with a garage editor so you can spawn you fav cars for each person, and the garage editor has the BF, DT, FP, and EP. so you can spawn the best car in your garage and still have al the proof's neways ill go try it out your way
  13. here is some stuff i forgot too ad to my post above, and i am too lazy to edit it, the reply button was closer to my mouse -if two people are in the same area and the ram or blow up a car, becuse the traffic and peds are synced, it will happen on both screens.. so even tho they are not synced over net, they react as tho they were -problems tho: --if one car blows up, and just then a car from a different district drives in, it will not figure in the eq (example above) so they will see a fresh car, not a blown up car... --traffic will be borning.. possibly have an hour of looping traffic? Problem in .02 and probably .03: -right now the other players car is not actually driving. its just a parked car. and it changes the coordinates of the car, but the car has no inertia or momentum (not real, but the game simulates it) you can notice this if the other person hass a top heavy car.. when its placed it rockes back and forth.. its not actually moving. sooo if the servers car crashes into ai, on his screen it will knock the ai away.. but because there is no inertia on the client side.. it will just be placed on top or overlapping on the other car... do you see what i mean? so its not just as easy as syncing traffic anyway. by anyrate it would be a shitload of work to do and i dont think it will be that terrible without ai.. but neways.. do you guys see how my idea could work?
  14. here is another idea of traffic syncing, that i hadnt thot to add before: -each area has a pre-defined set of static traffic (placed by mta team) the areas would be the different districts: Red Light, Hepburn Heights, China Town ect. -when one player enters a place, it starts counting the seconds that player in there. -next: the traffic/ai is no longer random. they follo a predictable pattern. (ie: red 4x4 always turns right) -Therefore if you know the amout of time a player has been there, then you will also know where all the cars are, it will be like a algebra equation: f(time) = car pos -if a player enters a place where there already is another player, instead of starting at zero, the new players time is the old players time, so using the eq, that player will have the same cars -the pattern will be looping. -this way if you have the time the other player has been in there, then you know where his cars are, because it only takes a certain amount of time for them to move, and it wont change. plus sending a single number wont really add to lag.. if there is no other player, then you start count at zero.. Make sense? -in the pseudo-server idea: if i am trailing a infernus, and then i enter another persons bubble, and they become pseudo-server, then i will stop seeing what i was and the inernus will disappear from my screen. -on the other hand, using the "bubble" \ pseudo-server idea: rather that having one take over, possibly they could share cars.. by any rate my i dead would have the least lag BTW: once again the techinical name for the "bubble" is donut
  15. my idea was and still is (ignoring some of the facts i posted above) that instaed of having gta3 generate ai, have gta3:mta do it intead. it each version of mta had the same random seed and or instead of random, have a looping pattern, when two people are on the same screen.. it doesnt matter becuase mta knows what should be where ahead of time, preveting the lag of sending synced traffic\peds. all though youd still need to resize buffer and this would be a load of work.. well thats my idea
  16. has anybody got any ideas on how horrbile .03 will work on ARG 56k? .02 lagged, but not really anymore so than anyone else.. i mean people with lan and broadband were complaining about the cars skippping.. so ya.. damn 56k to internet hell. also: 2, 10, or 30? none inbetween? if i had 15 friends that i wanted to play, we would have to invite 15 strangers???? neway sounds great no matter what. I CANT WAIT!!!!!!
  17. i dont think there are going to be ped\caps\traffic at all. 1) gta3's dispaly buffer is (i believe) 30 so you cant have ai taking up space for players.. (unless they resize the buffer, however we dont know if thats possible yet) 2) syncing traffic is hard. because traffic is random, and ai is spontaenous, everyones screens have different traffic.. this cause the game to crash... thats why is v.02 its really stable at the airport, because there is on ai/traffic there 3) thiry people in once city with team death match, ctc, and liberty city survivor i dont personally think will get borning.. but that's just me

  19. How will in game chat work? Private? Public? Just between teams? It would suck if you were planning with your team and the other teams saw ur chat...
