  1. Great, scarface. Will there be a roadmap for 1.0.1 so we can see the progress as well? Also, I had just thought - it'd be neat in the next version if the camera (mouse cam) rotated on the correct side of a fake wall (road, etc.) so you didn't have to rotate the camera in another direction in order to see where you want to look. Normally, on a fake wall like this, if you want to go perpendicular to the wall and you're facing away from it, your camera goes behind the wall and you can't see your vehicle. It's like collision detection for the camera. If this is too difficult to understand, I can take a video clip to demonstrate.
  2. I think 1.0 is pretty great too. However, interacting (either if it's lag or interpolation of some sort) with vehicles in races, some people push me out of the way if I'm ahead as if my car is a tin can and it's as if their cars are heavy like trains. Also, in instances where my car hits them from the side to try to push them out of the way - their vehicles don't budge but I ricochet off them like a bug hitting the windshield. This never occured with MTA: SA Race. Maybe it's due to the new core or amount of players but I think it should be ironed out soon. And, once most of the crashes get sorted out, it'll boast for a more seamless experience.
  3. I just got another crash while on the boat near the docks where you can go inside the ship (aircraft carrier) and I was by the crates on the lower level, near where the smaller boats can board. I was jumping a few times using the spacebar close to the smaller crates in order to try to grab hold and that's when it crashed. I was playing Deathmatch. http://avalanchemedia.ca/other/client_R ... 9_2340.dmp
  4. Wouldn't it be useful for 1.0 to have an error report and submission (when an error occurs) to you peeps? ie. if driving something, where, when, keys pressed, etc. I think it'd take out a lot of the guess work.
  5. You could look around for an 8600M GT on eBay or similar and also see if your laptop would support it. Pass on the 8400M GS.
  6. Oh ok. Are they difficult to diagnose to see what are causing them or do people just need to report .dmp files to you peeps with a hint at what we were doing when it happened? How are the dump file interpreted on MTA Team's end?
  7. If I remember correctly, I was driving a car. I don't remember the details. It crashed by pausing for a second and then it went right to the desktop (no error).
  8. Another crash a couple minutes ago - http://avalanchemedia.ca/other/client_R ... 9_1347.dmp
  9. Attached are my .dmp files from the \MTA\dumps\ folder. http://avalanchemedia.ca/other/client_R ... 9_0002.dmp http://avalanchemedia.ca/other/client_R ... 9_1438.dmp
  10. I had this idea awhile ago and might have told it sometime but I'm not sure if I did or not. My idea for a RP server to make it interesting was - - players are part of different gangs (ie. 6 gangs of ten players per gang per se) who make money doing different tasks (maybe doing different jobs or the like) - all gangs start with a 'barebones' base at a location of their choice and after gang members get enough money, they are able to purchase different base components to make the base stronger (different grade walls, traps, man-controlled SAM sites, etc.) - when bases are built up enough, some players can play offence and attack while some players stay back at the base and play defence This is just a thought, even though it might or might not solidify into anything.

    99% Cant wait ?

Thanks for your feedback, gamesnert. Sebas, can you expand further on this for me? Thanks.

Thanks, PacMaan. I'll pass along the info.

Thanks Kosmo. Also, could you also shed some light on if there's IRC integration?

    99% Cant wait ?

Just wondering, my clan has some concerns before we move to DM 1.0 from Race. One of the 'owners' in our group said - In my opinion, switching to dm client, if that was to be done, would have to factor in: * Be a stable version ie, not development releases full of bugs * there must be a solid management console in place ( as in a stable and reliable administration enabling to perform admin tasks as we can now do) * This administration console needs to be 100% adaptable to our irc server, enabling us to remote administrate without being in the server playing Now I know #1 is good, #2 sounds like DM 1.0 is more robust than what was in Race and I'm not sure of #3. Can you still (like in Race) use IRC and see the player activity, interact, use administrative functions, etc.? Thanks in advance.
  15. SInce my last reply on this thread, I've done a fresh install of Vista Home Premium 64-bit. And, I have Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade on pre-order (was also a beta tester amongst many others). Vista far surpasses any performance experience I've had with XP.
  16. Had I not seen this thread, I wouldn't even know that Google Code has something similar - hence I wouldn't have known I could download or how to install it. Chances are the 'new user' wouldn't know anything about what Google Code is and where it illustrates something similar to this thread. Looking at the main mtasa.com index pages shows "Head over to our Google Code project page." However, I'd suggest adding a comment beside it explaining exactly what there is to do there. Other than that, after you pointed it out, I see the instructions on the 'Downloads' tab after clicking that link.
  17. Ah, thanks. I'll check it out. Update: I keep getting the error upon clicking the executable to start MTA - "Load failed. Please ensure that the data files have been installed correctly." Update2: Oops, I forgot about the Data install.
  18. I got into MTA: SA a bit of each from the bottom three.

    MTA Dead?

I haven't played SA since I bought IV the day it was released on Dec. 2nd, 2008, and I'm a great fan of MTA: SA Race. However, GTA:IV is great, despite the amount of ranters in this thread and my machine runs it like a dream. I do, however, still have faith that DM for SA will be pulled off well, regardless of how long it takes.
  20. I think he mean't for Race Mode (wrong section).
  21. In the middle of the clip when the second person fell off the airplane and using the mouse to look back, you could see the person floating in mid-air about a kilometer back and still continuing to follow. Otherwise, it was pretty good sync with no noticeable frames dropped.

    Super desync

Also, a de-sync problem occurs at times while in vehicles when you interact with other vehicles/objects. If for example, you cut off a vehicle - nothing happens to the secondary vehicle immediately, instead happens seconds later. This doesn't happen all the time, however.
  23. XP Home SP2 on my desktop & Vista Home Premium on my laptop. See signature.
  24. I remember hearing from the MTA Team that Race maps would be compatible with Deathmatch. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  25. "Why" anyone would want to do that doesn't really matter, it's a bug and in-turn - crashes the system and needs to get fixed. In order to fix bugs, people need to do such things to make the system as bullet-proof as possible.
