Like Paul said in an earlier post, having this idea (carbombs) and others based around GTA2 would be a nice. Also, you know those car wash buildings in SA which don't really have a purpose except for looks? It also might be nice to have those working (scripted) in the future. I'd love to see the pole-polishers rotating and cars becoming clean. Even though cars can't get dirty, except for version 2.0 of SA, it would be nice if dirty cars could be scripted to take advantage of the Car Wash buildings. The list could go on, tbh, but I'm sure more will come in the next while.
  2. Hi Draco, if you need some help hosting your site let me know. I rent a VPS for my clients and have 500GB bandwidth monthly. If not, no problem.
  3. This is off-topic, but: In-game, press 't' to type, then press Enter.
  4. Hello, Happy New Year 2007! I realize this is a couple weeks late of thread revival. However, I'd like to add... It's quite normal for software vendors to release software systems (ie. drivers, etc.) after OS release dates. An example of this situation includes Creative. I was looking up drivers for the Audigy2 ZS to reassure compatibility when I buy Vista Ultimate Edition. According to this vendor, they won't be releasing drivers until the release of Vista (end of January). As discussed previously, Windows XP is the mainstream OS that most consumers will be using as of the release of Vista and it's expected XP has priority over Vista for compatibility. Personally, I'd prefer to buy Vista ahead of time (performance and efficiency-wise) and wait for the release of Vista-compatible MTA:SA. Have a great 2007!
  5. Nope, no mods; only a new computer, odd as it may seem. It worked fine on my last one, not this one though.
  6. Which Windows is that? Vista won't work with MTA. If it's not Vista, and only Windows XP then you're not the only one with this problem. I'm having this problem too.
  7. Hmmm... or how about even adding low-gravity as a mode . Would low-gravity be possible or is it too far outside the original game's barriers?
  8. How about interlaced? (ie. make a new image 2x2; transparent + white?(first row); white? + transparent); save this pattern. Fill that image (only the background) with this pattern.
  9. Yes, singleplayer is working properly. See updated post (above yours). PS - should I try it with my previous DVD-ROM to see if it makes a difference or do we know that it's the DVD-RAM with copy-protection for sure? PPS - I really don't see why MTA:SA doesn't work, because (while I own a legitimate bought version) if I use the no-cd crack or set singleplayer up with compatibility mode, SA singleplayer version works fine. However, MTA:SA still displays that error and must close. Also, like I said earlier, MTA:SA and SA-MP display this behavior. Possibly a new CPU feature which disallows this sort of thing? I don't think so, but who knows...
  10. Okay, sorry. I just separated my findings to make it more 'readable', but anyways... As I referred to on the first page, I have a new LG DVD-RAM with copy-protection. Upon attempting to run singleplayer without any changes, the game shows an hourglass for a quarter of a second, then disappears. Rockstar instructed me to run GTA:SA in compatibilty mode with NT4 (SP5) to bypass the copy-protection on the DVD-RAM. This enables GTA:SA (singleplayer) to function properly. However, whether compatibility mode is enabled or not, MTA:SA will not function. I keep getting that error.
  11. Ok, I formatted and did a fresh Windows XP install. Same problem. This is ridiculous. Sounds to me like a hardware issue with MTA and SA-MP; odd it is, but GTA:SA itself works fine. I don't understand. I also have all of the latest drivers and Windows Updates installed. Any help on this matter would be really appreciated. Thanks, NazcaC2
  12. There's nothing wrong with more coverage.
  13. Ok, here's what I'm going to do and here's what I found out. Since the same problem has continued onto when I got the new motherboard (after using the XP Repair), I'm going to backup my data on DVD's and probably do a reformat with a fresh Windows XP install tomorrow. Perhaps the previous chipset drivers clashed. Mind you, it was for an eighty dollar motherboard and one of a kind (AGP + Conroe compatible: Asus P5PE-VM). And, currently, I'm using the Asus P5N32-SLI Premium with WiFi. Also, to be honest, I just tried SA-MP and the same error occurred with that so it's not MTA, just to confirm.
  14. Yeah, that's ok. I hope the devs can help me find a solution sometime.
  15. Yes, yes.. sorry for the continuous flooding. Here's the error screenshot: http://avalanchemedia.ca/other/error-mta.gif Upon clicking the text button in the middle to view technical information about this error... Here's the error in bulk. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?> Anyways, hopefully someone can help me in the future. I would reallllly like to get back to playing MTA again.
  16. I'd also like to add, I've only done an XP Repair from the previously new motherboard (Asus P5PE-VM; which I got recently too, because I had a new AGP videocard and didn't want to go to PCI-E yet and this mb also supported Conroe processors) which allowed me to continue where I left off without formatting and starting fresh again. Now, it shouldn't conflict with the previous chipset drivers; all of my current Asus P5N32-SLI Premium chipset drivers have been installed and the same problem occurs. I've recently talked to "Stephen|AFI" (thanks again, Stephen) about this problem and no solutions were found. Here's my dxdiag.txt for more info: http://avalanchemedia.ca/other/dxdiag.txt (I've got a temp ATI x300 installed until my new XFX 7950GT Xtreme Edition arrives; also, temp 1GB of DDR2 installed until I receive my new Corsair 2GB)
  17. You're correct, it is wrong. Stubborn newbs, lol.
  18. More files to help with this problem... 19. FYI, I have absolutely no problem with the way your system is set up, I'm only in fact suggesting new ways for everyone to cope with the overwhelming amount of spam, in accordance to this thread title. On a personal level, I'm not directing any defensive behavior to you or anyone else, only listing suggestions. In relation to your statement Blokker, unfortunately if they read the manual, they'd still want to ask the question. Theoretically, nothing really will stop people from asking for release dates, no matter how many bold banners, popups, etc. are put up, they will always ask; ridiculous as it may seem.
  20. ...or a better solution to it all..... Upon registering, just above the registration form, put a bold and clear banner up - trust me, they won't miss it. That would definitely cut down on additional posts and it will get right to the point.
  21. I don't think anything would solve this problem in an attempt to reduce the number of posts; because, like someone already said - no newbs will read the posts (above or in general) to figure that out.
  22. ...or just add a new emoticon (smiley) similar to Vicer's test signatures. The newb posts, we post the emoticon. Problem solved.
  23. I receive the same problem. Then again, I've upgraded my system to an Intel Duo Core 2 6400, etc. and also did a fresh Windows install. This might help, I've attached the generated error log. See below threads for an error log output. PS - I recently got GTA:SA working (not MTA yet)- called R* and they told me to run GTA:SA in compatibility mode with NT4 (SP5) due to my LV DVD-RAM having some copy-protection issues with the game. Previously, both worked on my past system with different components.
