Delete the gta_sa.set file located in the GTA San Andreas User Files in your My Documents directory.

Anyway, did you try changing the setting I mentioned in the first reply?

The drivers on the Dell site are ancient. Use this chipset driver. Did you update the Ethernet driver? Download Speedfan, it can check the health of your hard drive.

If the chipset driver causes crashes, you have bigger problems. What makes you think your hard drive is dying?
