MTA does not modify ANY of the GTASA files whatsoever, so it couldn't damage it.

If you want to play MTAVC over LAN with no active Internet connection, you need to open mta.ini and change the line "DontGetLatest=0" to 1.

You use your common sense to install the CLIENT, and not the SERVER? Hahahahaha I can't believe you downloaded the server and not the client and then wondered why you couldn't play. Such a shame that people can't read.

You have to click on the "Play MTA San Andreas" icon. It should be in C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas or in Start menu\All Programs\MTA San Andreas if you've installed it to the default directories.
