MTA Team Blokker_1999 Posted November 5, 2003 MTA Team Posted November 5, 2003 our picture of the day section on the main page. When you submit a picture (you can submit it to [email protected] ) please put it in jpg, gif or png, these fileformats are supported by browsers. It also makes the files smaller so the upload goes faster. And do not zip them please. If you want you may add a comment to them to go below it, however i still have to find something to easely add the comment . Mabe someone knows a convertor to convert bmp files to jpg files for all those n00bs out there?

Mabe someone knows a convertor to convert bmp files to jpg files for all those n00bs out there? Someone needs a program to convert bmp to jpg?!? why not just use paint? Save as.... "type" jpg....Simple enough for me anyways. Blokker, you have no faith in the MTA community.
MTA Team Blokker_1999 Posted November 6, 2003 Author MTA Team Posted November 6, 2003 yes, but the result with paint is bad, to high compression
Ben Lagg Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 Faithful MTA community... I haven't got programs for changing bmp into jpg...
True Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 yes, but the result with paint is bad, to high compression That isn't quite true: it is just using the Microsoft JPEG encoder, which, understandably but not acceptably, is full of bloat. It looks like high compression, but it saves plenty of that lossed data into the file. I can save a JPEG that looks much better in say, the GIMP and it'll be of a smaller filesize.
@ndy Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 ive not picture of the day for a while has it change its place or has it not bin published?
Ben Lagg Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 NOW I got interested... where was that encoder?
Alex3305 Posted November 11, 2003 Posted November 11, 2003 I use Macromedia Flash LOL For drawing.. It's working and Easy.. That easy part is because I have 4 But there u can set your compression and in Jasc's Paint Shop Pro too.. Check http://www.jasc.com - Alex3305 -
fearthecat Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 I'd recommend Jasc's Paint Shop Pro too... it also has a Batch Converter, handy for changing all those bitmap screenies into jpg's in one go
[KFC] Smeg Head Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 I use Macromedia Flash I agree it's pretty good. But Microsoft picture it publishing is the best.
l2ebel Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 with adobe photoshop 7 u can -resize -save for web (remove unneeded stuff from the pic to make it smaller) -save in many formats (16 + there are a lot of plugins) and much more....
Si|ent Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 *looks for the picture of the day* *refreshes and looks again* Blokker.... ?
Agret Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 If you want to convert bmp to jpg an easy way would be to use PHP to do it, I prefer PNG images to JPG's anyday, they are about the same size and have much better quality. (Except for photos, JPG own them anyday)
