tomozj
When in windowed mode, it's possible to drop down to about 1-2 fps. The cause What's causing this are things in Windows, outside MTA. For example when you hover over a taskbar item, a "alternative text" caption fades up and lags both Windows and the MTA game. Also, MSN Messenger animating icons cause this lag, so it's something to do with the movement. Link to comment
KillFrenzy
I would change the process priority to high if it were possible. That should reduce the effects of the problem, but then would cause the rest of your computer to lag. Can MTA set the process priority to high when in focus, or set to low when not in focus? I guess it may resolve it. Link to comment
thestrangestick
Putting mine into window mode, with mod or with the mta command, cause horrific lag whatever I'm running or not running in the background. Link to comment
szlend
Well I can play fine in windowed mode. Actually, playing fullscreen makes me almost invincible so I cannot play in any deathmatch servers. Changing to window mode seems to fix that. I have no idea why Link to comment
kevuwk
windowed mode was mainly put back in (it was taken out in dp1) so people could test scripts a lot easier Link to comment
50p
Also, when you're in window mode and right-click somewhere outside the game's window the list which pops up lags the game too. Link to comment
madis
Try using lower resolution of game, so the window will be smaller. Link to comment
Simbad de Zeeman
turn of Anti alias then your game runs fine... i had that too. Link to comment
Mr.Hankey
I have the same problem but for me every window or popup that has an opacity lower than 100% causes this problem. For example i used winamp with an opacity of about 60% and it made the game lag like hell so i changed it to 100% and everything worked fine... Link to comment
Mr.Hankey
Try to disabel a CPU-core good idea if you use a pentium4 3.2 Ghz processor Link to comment
allah-cool
I have window mod and there is lag but it does not ruin the gaming experience, on the HUGE races it can go down to 11 but I dont really care racing on 11FPS. Its better to go on MSN and iTunes with MTA at the same time. Link to comment
