Dang you reply quick, I edited my earlier post, but not fast enough it seems! Check out the new post and reply again. Sorry for the inconvenience. The new post just shows an example of how each map has its own limit, and I wounder what ya think of it.
-
I think this is a great idea. Having this would get people to play some new stuff once in awhile, instead of the same old thing. Keeps it fresh, and keeps the "skillz" sharp since playing the same map over and over doesn't increase any thing except the skills needed to play that particular map, rather than MTA:SA online in general. Also, I think that every map should have its own " times_played_limit " so the shorter maps can be played more before each scheduled reset and the longer maps be played less before each scheduled reset (in this case the sheduled reset was every 30 min). for example: Falling Down times_played_limit 3 Break times_played_limit 8 Steal OJ's Weed times_played_limit 2 Can you make it? times_played_limit 1

Why not just lock it now? This thread is just repeating the same old questions by the community and is getting the same old answers by the team. It's going nowhere. Yeah, we all tried to point out the fact that the team is focusing on the big bugs first, but as usual whenever anyone answers the community's questions, they don't listen anyways. They want us to say that the MTA team is doing nothing so they won't have to feel guilty about their impatience and bitching. Well they are making progress. Nobody can deny the change logs, the screenshots, the movies, the script tutorials, the feedback from the dev team and QA testers, the IRC discussions, and everything else that people fail to recognize when they go asking "Where's DM?".

Agreed. Here, just let me wham my computer with a hammer first. ThErRee tTHaaAts bETttER.,.

listen to this guy, he knows whats he's talking about
-
thats exactly what i was talking about. ENDLESS bugfixing, perfectionism. And again if you didnt understand what i criticize, then read mdm13's post again, maybe you understand him better than me. So you are agreeing to mdm13's ideas. I also agree with his ideas. I believe that the MTA team should focus on the most serious bugs first before anything, and last time I checked, they are doing just that. I can bring up numerous posts by the MTA team that all conclude that they are trying to focus on the most serious bugs, and slow down (but not eliminate) feature implementation. ps: thanks cracky for stopping the flaming, and instead pointing out your ideas, makes everything better
-
Man this is why I want this idea to happen, because I know there's people out there like you who have the ambition to DJ
-
I'm still waiting for a reply from that crackhead.

A pot calling the kettle black. ^ Oh and looky here: then kevuwk replied: Hey why didn't you respond to this question? Got out smarted? ^
-
what else do you want doing other than bugs being fixed so that it will be stable for a release? yeah I noticed that cracky kindof avoided this question. ahahahahahah!!!! oooooooh look out! we got a psychic here! Two things idiot, first, you are contradicting yourself like you can't even read what you type, second, they are showing progress! Don't you even read whats on the dev updates? wait wait wait, holdon, can you even read? that might be the cause of all these problems you seem to be having
-
did you ban this guy yet? also: sweet93 = TheAssOfMTA
-
A: hardly, it seems they both suck equally compared to Alaskan Eskimo Rugby, which is way better imo Q: Johnline's face is OVER NINE THOUSSAANNNNNDD!?!?!? (sorry, I just had to ask another over nine-thousand question)
-
A: OVER NINE THOUSAAAANNNNDDD!!! Q: WHAT DOES THE SCOUTER SAY ABOUT THE POWER LEVEL?
-
Why not host community made uploaded music, so that you can avoid all the licencing crap?
-
If that can be done, then this will be even easier for users, since the need to refresh would decrease greatly.
-
man I remember Slothman, error404, vtec, Kanada, Phillip, L/\nce, Owl, Skymage, and a buncha others battling it out in front of the Shoreside-Vale Triad spawn all day, once in awhile you might see a cop or two ride by. and how we used to copcar glitch the server so we could battle atop the hospital. and the Dodo "bitchpack" glitch so we could fly all the server players to another island to battle, or to the Mafia house for a party. this pic taken by [LCG]PhiLLip : you can see me, Owl, Skymage, error404, Slothman, and PaulMCC, but I don't know who that is

A: Not Important, just reached post 1200. Q: is 1200 over nine-thousaaaannnd??

Do you mean to have different hosts as in different IPs or just a different DJ on at different times of the day? Because, having different IPs hosting during the day would be a pain. Of course we can't have a 24/7 DJ but a 24/7 host on the same IP is definitely possible to do, with alternating DJs. I meant different hosts as in different IPs. I know this may seem like a pain, but thanks to the "Refresh" and "Copy to Clipboard" buttons, switching to a new host's stream is a breeze. This is true, my friend does this a little bit, although he doesn't talk and he has an automated system so he actually doesn't need to do too much to host it. So if we do have any enthusiasts that want to be DJs, they should post here Also, if anyone is willing to host (I can also ask my friend) please post as well. Yes, if anyone would like to DJ, or host, they should post here.

was it that hard to guess? my internet sarcasm is poo, next time i need to put one of these next to it >>>

Keep in mind that finding only one primary host would be quiet difficult. It would be much easier to find users who can host for maybe 3 to 5 hours a day. After finding several volunteers to host different hours of the day, eventually the entire 24 hour time schedule would be filled. If not, at least 19 to 22 hours out of the 24. You also mentioned how you listen to user tracks, which allows me again to point out the benefits of MTA Official Radio, the fact that its streaming on your media player, which means you can simply shutdown the player at any time to gain back bandwidth, and play the local user tracks instead. Users with 256k and lower understand how this would be good on a high-ping server. Users with dial-up would appreciate this as well, since they need all the possible bandwidth possible, and would probably listen to the radio on #mta IRC rather than while in-game. I also forgot to mention that the live streams can allow people to embrace an opportunity at DJing a radio station, and would be a great start for radio enthusiasts. These stations can feature a live DJ voice similar to that of an airwave radio station, and community made songs (such as IJs music) to hear the musical talent of the community.

Read the whole post!!! I know that many users have suggested that MTA implement a "streaming radio" feature into the new MTA release, and every time have the developers explain their plans on how they'd rather not, to conserve bandwidth. That aside, shouldn't MTA have an official station that can be heard 24/7 via media players? I understand that AlienX has mentioned hosting a station, but admits that the station would not be available 24/7 under his hosting, due to his internet sharing situation. The MTA team would need to find a generous host for 24/7 availability, which I don't think would be easy to come by. (After DM is released maybe some volunteers may arise, but not in abundance.) Anyways, The feature I am suggesting: To allow the MTA client to display an updated URL for the current MTA Official Radio stream, with a "Refresh" button next to it to get the latest URL, and a "Copy to Clipboard" button that would copy the URL to Window's clipboard. This way, if the host changes regularly, or for temporary repair, users can easily Refresh and paste new URL's into their media players before going in-game. The constantly updated URL may eliminate the need for a single permanent 24/7 host, and instead can depend on several different hosts that are each willing to cover some of the day, and take turns regularly on a hourly or daily schedule. (In this case, AlienX's hosting may come in handy) As the station is handed over to another host, users can simply Refresh and paste the new URL into their media players and proceed to rock on.
