  1. OMG I JUST DID MY FIRST AIRGRAB!!! click here
  2. it also depends on if GTA likes your PC or not. they run relatively bad on my computer, whch should be more than fast enough. it can drop down to 1 FPS sometimes when a fence is falling, or to just a few FPS if there are a lot of cars crashing into eachother, or if cops are chasing you in single player, etc.
  3. nice job. does anyone know if its possible to clear that fence on the other side of the parking lot (that keerfemag did not clear) with a PCJ? ive been trying for a while and i cant do it.
  4. i agree 100%. some weapons are just better than others, and it doesnt make sense balancing them because there would be no need for different weapons since they would all be the same. imo, the best solution would be to leave everything exactly as it is in single player, but make the better weapons (such as stubby and M60) less accessible than others. and its not like the stubby is some extremely powerful, totally unfair weapon. it has extremely short range, and you cannot move while using it. what made it so powerful in the previous versions was 1) that people were much more skilled with it than with other weapons and it was also very popular, and 2) its spread of bullets did not require exact aiming as with other weapons. but in a fully synched game where the M60 and M4 aimed perfectly every time, they would be very good weapons. i mean the M60 has very long range, shoots fast as hell, and only takes a few bullets to kill someone. and i am not even mentioning grenades or the flame thrower. there are many ways of evading the stubby, and many other formidable weapons. just because people that dont know how to avoid it hate it, doesnt mean it should be reduced to crap.
  5. not really.. it would be cooler if you do a jump from some roof for example and hit the heli that he's flying to do a crazy spin, but it is much harder to record in MTA:VC and much less practical than in single player Vice City, so ill limit the video to single player only.
  6. well, the first question was kind of stupid i guess, since i will definately do my best on the stunts, and then try to do a good job editing. about xerox's point regarding orginality, i am sure that i will include a lot of 'old' stunts such as spins and grinds because you cant have a PCJ video without that. but i will put a couple of irrgeular stunts in there too (with other vehicles). about the skins, i have some footage already with him in that black track suit, should i pick a cooler skin or does it not matter? i think i will download a cool one.
  7. lmao @ ending. once again, very good story and editing, and great action scenes.
  8. yes, i think i will make one if i dont get too lazy. (btw #2 you dont have to choose one of those numbers, come up with the amount that you think is best) and i am interested to know if it will be a bad thing if the character uses just one skin instead of multiple cool looking skins.
  9. - what is more important in a stunt video, great editing or great stunts? - what degree spins (against a vehicle) are worth putting into a PCJ stunt video? - do you like to see PCJ stunts only, or stunts with other vehicles as well? - do you like to see a single character skin used, or multiple skins used? - if most of the scenes in the video were at night time, would that be a down side/annoying? - how long should the movie be? would 7 minutes be too boring? would 3 minutes be too short? EDIT: added another question
  10. i assumed he was recording it in single player. another tip is, in order to permanently save a replay so that it wont get overwritten the next time you save one, copy the .rep file from your GTA Vice City User Files folder (located in My Documents) into some other folder and rename it. then, when you want to record that replay, put it back into the original folder and name it replay.rep.
  11. i cant download barney's video . it says it can't open it.
  12. just a tip, you can set FRAPS to record the game at half resolution, which should give you much higher fps. half size is usually large enough (unless you play on a very low resolution). another tip is press F2 to save a replay, so you can press F3 and view it at any time.
  13. brilliant editing, good story, and great stunts. next time i will think twice before jacking a taxi driver lmao.
  14. i agree about spreading out the spawn areas a bit more and i definately agree with putting the robber spawn back to prawn island!! i totally disagree. imo it is stupid to equalize the weapons, because there would be no point in having more than one. i say leave them EXACTLY as they are in single player, only make the good ones harder to get. i dont think they should get rid of it, the admin should have the power to turn it on or off as he does now. it would be interesting to have your own custom character with your skin and weapons of choice, but i doubt the MTA team will do this. im sure a third party developer will though. i get as much as a 5-10 fps drop on my PC... P4 2.26GHz with GeForce 4 Ti video card. but then again GTA doesnt like my PC very much.
  15. its good to hear that .4.5 is almost done. will it be just shoreside and portland, or stauton as well?
  16. what makes you say that? GTA3 shows messages of different weapons like that if you continually press F1.
  17. so did you 2 have fun 'grinding' with each other you guys dont know how tired i am lol ya it was fun right rebel lol yeh i got a bit hard on him lmao you bunch of fucking quuers yeah scorp joined and we had a big orgy of fun lol lmfao
  18. rmb and lmb for leaning seems like a good idea, i will have to try it. currently i use arrow keys for turning/accel/brake, spacebar for handbrake, 1 for lean back, and 2 for lean forward. i find this to be a very comfortable stunting configuration - right hand on arrow keys and left hand on leaning + handbrake.
  19. it would be easier imo, since you just have to aim at the guy and shoot, instead of shooting a bit forward, or to the left/right to overcompensate for lag and try to predict where your shots will do damage as it is now.
  20. i didnt make it in time . i was 45 minutes late cause i overslept.
  21. wtf omg, stupid MTA client. i typed in the password, i press Connect, it tells me its wrong. finally it lets me in, but then i get banned cause of 'Superbike' bs. anyways good idea putting on a password though, so only forum members can come.
  22. indeed it's about the whole game in general and i'm afraid my pc can't handle SA and when i play LC it lags like hell Yes a new comp is 2 xpensive for me yep its about the whole feel of the game - the phyisics, the cars, the music, the atmosphere, everything...
  23. i am looking for this tool that lets you spawn anywhere you want in Vice City 1.0 single player. how it works is you run this program, open vice city, press F6 to save the location you're in, then press F8 to choose which saved locations you want to spawn at. i had it but the folder its in got deleted. does anyone know a link to this file or can send it to me? thanks in advance.
  24. this method that scorp showed looks good on trucks and boats, but on heli's (as shown in those pics) and other vehicles it may not look as realistic. will it be possible to set exact locations and positions of the player on the vehicle? like if it is some sedan, have the player crouch on the roof of the car, in a pickup-truck have them standing on the bed, etc. btw, this whole 'glue' thing will be done when someone jumps onto a vehicle, right? if so, im wondering how that will look... they jump onto the car, and they're suddenly snapped to the specified 'glue' position? how will get they get out of it? third question, when you're glued, will you always have a first person view like in that mission where lance flies you around in a helicopter? maybe there is some way to just make it the regular third person view.
  25. thanks, it works now, i cant believe i didnt realize i had it stored in ASE
