Helikills are allowed on the FMJ server, and personally I'm glad about it. I think that all these 'lame' ways of being killed (hellikills, carkills, spas, flamethrower, molotov and grenade glitching) are all valid because if you are careful, they won't affect you. For example, people will find it very hard to carkill me because if I'm on foot, I regularly check behind me and I am pretty good at dodging. However, that is in a true FFA. In gangwars I think that at least helikills should be disallowed - it's just too much to be checking for other players, cars AND helicopters. A helikill during a match is just too easy. Especially when attacking a base with people on the roof, which amazingly you don't have.

The FMJ server isn't running Lightbulb at the moment, but only because Oli is away for a week or two. What I've seen of it has blown me away - really good job to both of you .

I don't even remember where I first heard about it - it was definitely online though. I didn't play the first version I got online (0.2.2 I think), I started playing when 0.3 came out.

You're all insane - GTA is supposed to be about freedom, not restriction. I'm already worried that there will be too much restriction with having to eat. Yes it introduces more choice (will I eat a lot, or hardly anything), but there's no choice between eating and not eating. "Well that's just like in real life", you say? When has this game been about real life? I think it's a mistake, but we'll see how they implement it.

DeathB - Chode is checking this forum every day I think, but it might be better if you try to arrange things in the FMJ forum while Oli is away. I'm not sure we want to tie up our weekends like that though as that's generally when most people are able to fight (ie we'll probably want to keep one day for other gangs). The thing with the themes is that MTA v2 is the only half-decent one, and there's only two others. If you want to make a more MTA-style one, I'd be happy to help. I have experience with creating styles for phpbb - I created the default stlye at these boards on my own. It's based on subSilver, but it doesn't look anything like it.

I understand that not only are you doing this in your spare time and for free, and you are always having impatient people asking "when is it out?", but now you also have these attacks on the server. I wish you all the best with 0.4 and beyond - this is certainly the most well thought out and executed modification I have ever seen, and I just wish I could help in some way. I hope to encourage the MTA team, so that you don't just have the people complaining about it's faults. Hmm - this is one reason I like GTA:LC, because it's even easier when you've got a bike (or heli!). Any way - it's on staunton island. If you remember the mission where you have to escape the spank-crazed suicide bombers, it's at that car park. There is an underground car park underneath it. Next to the entrance to that, there are some steps which go up to a small area. If you jump up on the wall which overlooks the car park and run towards the steps, you should get to an enclosed area. Somewhere in there is that sign. It's a bit complicated to explain without pics, sorry.

I've just remembered something. Before I took the tests to join FMJ, I was being trained up. During this period I recall being asked to play in a match with the FMJ tag, although not actually a member yet. I think it was the day before I was gonna take the tests. That was because FMJ were short. I think that before a couple of weeks ago FMJ had a few problems having enough members around. But now that it's just had a surge of new players and possibly some more soon, I don't think there will be any further problems with numbers.

Hi RonSeal, I wondered if this had anything to do with the KFC match tonight. Maybe it's just a coincidence. Any way - on the point of finding a team of 8, let me just give you a few stats: Members of Teams KFC 56 ULK 46 TmM 24 VCK 22 VCES 21 FMJ 18 Those are from the official gang member lists, doing my best not to count 'honorary' members. In FMJ I've noticed that it's actually fairly hard to get 6 members for a match let alone 8. Regarding DeathB - when I knew he was going to be playing with us, I had reservations. But they were about a TmM knowing our tactics rather than whether or not it was right for him to be playing. Especially when ULK and FMJ are allies. What would you consider a good way to sort out the fact that you're a script kiddie who hacked into the FMJ site saying that it was completely anonymous, only to find out that (horror of horrors) it's flipping simple to find out the IP of the perpetrator. I mean - if your gonna use someone else's script, at least understand the limitations.
