  1. Please dont double post. CTF wil be possible with MTA, and since it is a very popular game mode it may be even possible with the r2 map maker in the first DM release

  3. there are a set of 6maps in that file, extract them all into the directory and it will use another map if one gets out of memory

  5. Apology accepted. I would also like to say that i dont think it was me who brought it in, though if i did, sorry. But right now, the person brought in SA-MP is irrelevant. Looking at both communities, this topic, the xfire one and other topics, id just like to say that i think both sides have been acting sketchy lately. In the xfire post we see blokker jumping to conclusions, and almost the same here. however, since mtasa was anounced we have been recieving very sarcastic comments which the team are offended by. We would like this to stop. By no means does this to refer to specific members of the SA:MP beta team but here is some evidence SA:MP vs MTA MTA vs SA:MP That's all i could gather right now. There are many quotes i could gather from irc, msn, other forums (particularly kfc forums) that are rather disrespectful, also on the xfire forums, if i wanted. I've tried to present a two sided argument, and am hoping both sides will take into account things that have happened and learn to show more respect to each other. Also, I must say its not as if i am not responsible for any of this either. I took a while to prepare this post, and i hope that this will mark the end of any other flamewar starting between SA:MP and MTA.
  6. Maybe this 'ransom' was a really bad player, and drove into a barrel and blamed it on spawn points
  7. I think this is possible in MTAMA, if a script was made. It simply notes all the maps that have been played, and if it starts again it randomly changes to another till all of them are played, with the exception of people voting manually.
  8. If you are refering to a simple Team Deathmatch game mode with certain spawns, im sure it will be possible. You can also hope to see it in the first release, before the SDK.
  9. Yeah, all these ideas are great bump and are pretty much needed for any game. I can't emphasise more the requirement of friendly fire. This is something that 0.x has been lacking for along time now. This very basic feature introduces the ability to create any team game.
  10. This is great news, it's great to have a user freindly interface for creating modes. I just hope it doesnt get too complicated . I dont know if i'll have enough motivation to work on extending the map editor manual
  11. using MTAMA on the server, it should be possible to implement a login system
  12. lol cool. let this be a lesson to all server admins
  13. You backed up my original argument well, but now choose to make into a personal attack against me. I have been supporting other multiplayer mods for a very long time. I really do find it an insult that you should think that i never think critical of MTA and its community, because i already said that the post was phrased wrong. Personally i also feel that the race mod may not have been a good idea for first release. I've always tried to remain neutral with multiplayer mods, and anyone who knows me (i hope) knows that i dont attack other mods. More to the point, with the release of MTA, and being part of the QA team, it is my duty to defend the MTA team - help them with things other than beta testing. The team are taking more and more pressure and flaming from all directions, the blog, forums and outside the bounds of mtavc.com, dare i say even from beta testers of SA-MP posting in public. SInce the release of MTA r1 ive had to take a stance that is very strict to help - much more strict than i have ever thought it would take. You see, I almost have to take the stance of the MTA team in a number of things, because it has become a part of being in the QA team. If flaming against MTA does take place, i have to defend it and make a formal reply as any MTA team member would do. Of course this doesnt apply with everything Not all my responses may be entirely neutral, though i always avoid anti-other mod comments. If you do not understand the position I have to take with this mod, then please dont make an attack on me personally. I do look critically at MTA, though you may still call me a 'fanboy' if you like, because ever since the release of MTASA r1 i knew i would have to take this responsibility. I really do feel offended and request an apology.
  14. No, i think you are wrong Spawnpoints are entirely random...if you have the first three spawnpoints as cars and last three spawnpoints as hunters, it will be random in car the player spawns. Checkpoints are not random. Using the 'Checkpoint order' you can view the order of your checkpoints. A player must pass these checkpoints in a certain order to win.
  15. hm? thats funny you mean instead of mta:sa dont you? Even if he did use mtavc, it wouldnt make any difference, since both are identical. His mistake was spelling 'centre' correctly, rather than spelling it incorrectly with 'center Both are correct depending on which country you're from. No, i normally take any excuse to take the rip into americans. Therefore center is incorrect.
  16. Your opinion is very valid, but i think Respawning has become a necessesity as it could reduce vote map abuse, as well as a handful of other problems. Chrml said that respawning would be serverside (i THINK) so you could have some servers without respawning, or possibly specific maps which have no respawn.
  17. Please back up your arguemnts with quotes so they are believable, because i refuse to think that it sounds like he's trying to take a dig at SA:MP fans unless you are willing to argue your point with specific references. Especially considering he did complement the SA:MP, GTAT, and GTA:R projects. Also, i feel that the intentions of the answer are misunderstood within the post. Although i feel that the post was phrased wrong id like to argue the following: If we go down to basics, MTA was the first multiplayer mod for GTA, agreed? It was followed by other mods...having the same aim. So in that sense, are these 'other mods' not imitating the objectives of MTA - to make GTA online? I think you may be thinking that he's saying that SA:MP is copying MTA, but it is merely 'copying' its objectives - to make a multiplayer mod. Even if i may be wrong, it is hardly a big deal. If the MTA team feel they are the 'big boys' and state that all other mods are inferiors (which clearly they are not) then it is other mod team's job to prove them wrong. Release a mod worthy of the community. This shouldn't be a war between fanboys or devs. At the end of the day, it's what the community praise.
  18. This is intentional. You cannot alt+tab from ingame. Please follow these steps: 1) If you are on a server press 'Esc' and then 'Disconnect' so you return to the MTASA main menu If you are in the map editor, keep pressing Esc and follow on screen instructions so that you quit to the MTASA main menu 2) Press ALT+Tab and you will return to desktop. 3) Press CTRL + ALT + DEL and select MTA: San ANdreas and End Task
  19. please check this topic to see if any of the solutions help http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=15046

  21. You can, the map just needs repair pickups to repair your car
  22. We have been analyzing reports of crashes ingame and have come to a conclusion about a vast majority of crashes. This crash is mostly caused in the freeroam.map file due to the large number of vehicle change pickups. After further investigation we realized that GTA has an internal limit only allowing 20 different vehicle types to be loaded at any point in time. What this means is if more than 20 players are all in different vehicles, then everyone will crash. To avoid this, we suggest not using freeroam.map, or removing some of the vehicle change pickups. We will try to improve this limit in our next version, and will try to have a new freeroam.map available on our community center soon. If your map requires more than 20 different vehicle types (not total vehicles), we suggest that you remove some of the vehicles or spawns from your maps in such a way that it is impossible for 20 different types of vehicles to exist at once. To clarify: Your map can still have 32 different spawns. That is not an issue. The only issue is maps that have more than 20 different vehicle types. Thanks, Kent
  23. What offline 2 player mod thing? Sounds interesting. someone released a mod to put the 2 player mode found in the Xbox and PS2 versions of the game back into the SCM
  24. 2.0 support was just added! Please test it i would like some feedback No, i dont plan on having an uninstall - if people would like to revert back they always have the option of going to http://www.nomorehotcoffee.com or reinstall
