  1. I'm new to mta, been playing about 3 weeks i think, anyhow i've seen a map of pickups, and i notice that miniguns, flamethrowers etc are not on there. So if a person has these weapons, does it automatically mean they are cheating? Thx. In advance.
  2. I remember about 2 years ago, all my pcs ran 98, mainly because i was afraid of incompatibility of nt, and my 98 software. Well, now i swear by win2k pro, and the ONLY problem i've had is viper racing doesn't run on nt...but who the hell care when you have vice mulitplayer lmao. I don't know how much 2kpro costs, but it's easy to , er , get it free ;x

    A few Q's

    First, my vice has a horrible problem playing some mp3's, it'll distort some horribly, or change the pitch. Sometimes when it goes to change songs it locks up, is there an addon that could help this? Second is there a personal stat keeper? I've seen the ones that keep stats for an entire server, but say i just wanted mine to be published to a php or html document on my hard drive. Thnx in advance.
  4. For the controller question, almost any controller can be converted cheaply. Current controllers to usb try http://www.levelsix.com Then, if you download joy 2 key you can set the joysticks to be buttons, or to even move the mouse pointer. I believe joy 2 key's english version is at levelsix. I keep the left stick set to WASD, and the right to the mouse, for a sort timesplitters configuration, takes some getting used to in comparison with a mouse...it's a psychological thing really lol.
  5. after some thought, i believe some people are running custom maps with ramps they acn see, but others can't (because others are running default maps). so if it isn't in your map, you can't use it. However the game still reports the custom map users coordinates, then, if you are in, or on their vehicle, you go with it. pretty ingenius really, however i think it's time to add crc checks into mta to keep this from happening, it's no fair you see
  6. yeah theres an invisible ramp somewhere behind the building, personally i cant get there unless someone takes me on a bike...it's crazy

IF ever, not soon, because they alll have to be synchronized like normal players (if everyone is to see the same ped at the same time at least) so basically a serveer that can handle 32 users, every cpu ped would decrease the number of human players, because it uses the same bandwidth to tell it's coordinates.
  8. yeah i set draw to max, it helped, if i install the patch, will i be restricted to certain servers?

I can play for about 2 minutes, beuatifuly, but then walls, cielings, roofs, everything spill over the street, randomly to the point i have to use the map as navigation just to keep from hitting walls. Currently i'm running 2.8ghz P4 geforce fx go w/64mb 768mb ram perhaps i need to install the 1.1 patch, i dunno andy advice?

I heard rumors of multiplayer gta3, i thought "now modding is great and all, but multiplayers is a hellishly hard thing...and to import it into a game like gta...no way in hell", that was probably, uh, 6-8 months ago, and i come to find it was an absolute truth today, i'm gathering my friends for lan on friday (halloween)...boy, if hell exists, it's in a multiplayer vice city, buahaha

I don't know if anyone has played tokyo battle or not, but basically, you are put in a tank that can take about 3 direct hits, kill a tank, health is put down, giving you about 1 hit's repairation. Two teams (of course in an area like vice there could be plenty more) they allot about 2 mins per battle, wicked fun in arcade, probably could make a great minigame. Dunno if it's possible or not, but you'd need to mod the tank properties, and some kind of team markers.
