  1. Serious Street Racers have retired, this thread is now redundant. I know a lot of people liked us but the street racing scene just never took off. 18th March twenty zero four.

    i dont get it

VKC Recruitment Thread - from now on, DO NOT POST ANYTHING until you have looked THOROUGHLY. It's all so freaking simple, yet you've managed to mess it up. Please, no-one reply to this thread, let's let this sorry episode fall off the topic list as soon as possible. (EDIT) Oh, and get that piece of crap out of your signature.
  3. A decent collection of screenshots from each gang leader in each game is perhaps better proof that the testimony of a referee who won't be able to get close enough to see player names without interfeering. With the F12 screenshot function that makes this preferable as well, I'd suggest. However, sometimes a little leadership is required during games. Ideally, all aspects of the game would be arranged beforehand in the challenge topics and the discussion therein. Or, just let them bodge thier way through setting up the rounds and hopefully everyone will have the common sense not to screw it up. (EDIT) As for the gang "site" idea, I'm so used to the forum-based method at GTAForums (and it's success using that method) that I think a forum-based clan system for MTA:VC will work well enough.
  4. *shuffle* Sorry to start conversation in this thread, but with the advent of the ladder league doens't that mean that allies would end up fighting each other, thus invalidating any alliance? If this is just a dis/respect list, then there's no need for it imho.
  5. A wise decision. I'm trying to figure out an easier way of organising competitions between each other for use with the ladder tournament. As I'm one of the officials I think it's sort of my responsibility to find better ways of doing this? At the moment it seems one gang will just challenge another out of the blue and hope that the other one accepts. What I'd propose is that we get the gang leaders to communicate much more closely with each other, perhaps make a topic that is for leaders only so that they can say whether they are looking for a fight (lol) and maybe suggest the gang they would like to fight the most? Or does the current informal way work better?
  6. Sounds like a bit of a disaster. Still, events like this make it clear who are the teams which are worth playing against and which are not. I'd suggest viewing this as a learning experience rather than a reason to start inter-gang rivalries. Was this entered into the ladder? Who was the referee? Personally I don't think this should qualify for the ladder league, looks like a game which should have been aborted with no scores carrying forward.

    Need traffic!

Bumping threads would get you a severe bitch-slap from the staff of any well-run forum, but not here I guess.

    Damage-o-meter

When I was playing TRX to show my radar mod and handling for the up-coming street racer mode, they had already added vehicle smoke to the SCM to indicate vehicle damage. So we can all expect that in the next release. The benefit of using smoke is that it won't get muddled up with the health bars of the driver and passengers inside each car.
  9. So... Much... Trash... From... You... Xenex, people don't need to run the same mods. I've played people on 0.1 servers who were using totally different models with collision files - even had map mods - and it ran fine, just looked weird. The main use for just allowing UNREGULATED mods as an option is for PRIVATE servers to allow people to mess around, test and develop any modification project. Public servers will tend to have the anti-cheat stuff turned on. And if they don't, then they accept the possible consequences of cheaters ruining the game they are hosting. Encouraging servers to add whether they have or havn't to thier "motd.txt" and even the server name would mean no players would enter a moddifiers game if didn't want to. Private groups (especially amongst the modifications community) will benefit enormously from an option to allow totally unregulated modifications. There are many multi-member map projects who could all install the latest development version of thier mod and test it (using an appropriate SCM file that they would make) in MTAVC. Majera, London Vice, FunWorld, Dexxland, St. Andrea are on GTAForums alone, so there is a very real demand for this. And it isn't just team map modding which would benefit, of course. Car modelers could test thier cars and handling with a select group to gain valuble real-time feedback, making the development process of thier car both faster AND more thorough. Texturers could show people around their modifications, people could apply to join teams by sending that team leader thier work and showing them around it in MTAVC! The benefits are endless and the downsides are simply nil to having the file checks as a server option.
  10. WHAT?. Hey, nice posting moderator. Really sets the example. Especially with that punctuation.
  11. Oh, I just thought that the others would be added later. Heh. We should get each other on windows messanger so we can discuss this properly...or at least use the private messanger rather than making a mess of our own topics!
  12. I wouldn't have thought so. The founder of each gang should be the leader...generally the person whose best at doing format tags so that your topic opening posts don't look like boring as hell would be the best bet.
  13. Cut out the super-sized text, makes you look like an attention whore. Which you may well be, but the rest of us don't need to know that. I've added PCT as the owners of Sunshine Autos. Image will be updated shortly.
  14. So, wtf is this for? And why the hell are you making announcement topics when you aren't a proper moderator? We are just ladder officials, local staff, so that we can pin OUR OWN clan topics. We don't run this thing, that is why Blokker was making the topics.
  15. This is a really bad idea. Stunt teams that set up packers on long routes to use wouldn't be able to rely on them staying there. Problems with synchronising the vehicle cleanup with every - this is already a problem for just plain blow cars up, let alone trying to run a garbage collection process. Already strained servers will fall to the floor crying at the extra load. When you are having a fight with a bunch of people you want your car to stay so that you can get away once you've killed them all. If you kill them all and it's gone you're screwed. Just a really bad idea all over.
  16. As the other clans are including matches they've already done, shouldn't they post them here to inform you? Should we use this like the "Gang memberlist" topic, where each gang leader posts that gang's results and no chatter is allowed? If so, I've ear-marked the SSR spot.
  17. SSR doesn't have a problem with it. And we do have the prettiest opening posts in all our topics, which is the political equivilant to a great haircut.
  18. Just have the CRC checks as an option, that solves your problems xenex. IT'S ALSO WHAT THIS TOPIC IS ALL ABOUT.
  19. I suppose the fairest way would just be to let clans sort it out themselves on a match-by-match basis. If they both decide that they can't be fadged to try and learn a particular circuit then they can just do a bunch of point to point races. And, of course, they can spend an hour or so just practising against each other before they do the races which will count as the match itself.
  20. Erm, forgive me for saying, but that track is crap. It runs back over itself FFS, do you realise how amazingly easy that makes it for unscrupulous to cheat? It's also a desperatly boring route. All those roads are very flat and easy, no-one enjoys that. Especially when it's pathetic R* handling which needs extremely frequent corners to be even remotely interesting to drive with. The problem with circuit racing is that people need to learn the circuits. When it's point to point there's no such problems - and no problems with people cutting corners either. If version 0.3 is released with my radar mod, THEN circuit racing would be entirely possible but until such a time, point to point is the best bet. (EDIT) Oh, cheers for adding me to the "Ladder Officials" group. Could you fly a PM to us all so we know what we are expected to do?
  21. I'd suggest locking it so that they have to use the new competition format. Can't be doing with a forum full of spin-off events when there's a centralised system we could all be using.
  22. (This topic is redundant because I have retired the SSR clan from MTAVC.) Serious Street Racing Game List Est. 26/09/2003 Topic Purpose This topic will be used to keep a list of all our played games. I will decide which events we compete in but the team we put forward into each might not include me. All team members can discuss possible events and challenges we might take up but I am the only person who may create topics for us. Game List As the ladder tournament never really took off, SSR are proposing that this area be made into a more casual inter-gang area, where teams can just arrange to meet each other in-game and mess around in "friendly" style matches. They can then report back saying whether the other gang is well skilled, mention anything interesting that happened. It will make the scene both less aggressive and will allow people to learn from each other and get better. Seems all good to me. Gang Details You can find our list of registered members in the "Official Gangs List" and can join us via the "SSR-Recruitment" thread. Our HQ is registered in Vice Point. It is a very large blue structure with ramps leading up to the raised floor. A good pilot can land a helicopter on the roof. There are a variety of places from which long-range cover fire can be made by attackers but the property offers a great deal of cover for those defending.
  23. Hey, would you mind if I made the racing rules? It would require that people used a hacked gta-vc.exe (the one I use still requires the original CD, so it's not warez) so that they could use my radar mod. That way the circuits would be clearly visible and the referee could take a screenshot of any one that went outside of the coloured areas. However, because I expect other racing gangs would try to cheat I suppose point-to-point races would be a better idea. You can always trust SSR not to cheat, though. Also, SSR have a 24/7 server (runs all the time) which I might be able to negotiate be used by other gangs when they race us, or even each other. And about 4 people is best for racing. Suggested Street Racing Rules Two racers from each team. One referee in helicopter decides the start and finish positions, they also do the count-down for the start. Race is a point-to-point route agreed by all, with freedom of route. Any vehicle may be used but any handling modifications mean that team is disqualified and lose all the rounds in that game. Players may change cars during the race but cannot use helicopters or steal cars being used by the other racers! Sound alright?
  24. I don't see your gang listed in the Official Gang List thread, so until I know that you are a serious gang I don't think I can let you reserve a spot.
  25. This has already been posted you evil little turd. Now if only the moderators here did anything.
