theres a file named config.cfg in your gtavc folder whch contains: bind F11 showscores bind F10 showplayers bind t say bind F9 showchat bind F12 screenshot check if you have "t" bound to "say", you can also change all those keys if you want, just save and close the file what they meant by "binding a key to the say function" was to write in the chat: /bind "new key to chat here" say but its being reset everytime you quit the game and it doesnt help with your problem since you cant even open the typing dialog (duh) just check config.cfg and try some other keys for chat, it might work..

i dont see any glitching involved with that, you still take about the same falling damage and you still get up as fast as normal when knocked down or have you found something that could be exploited?

thanks for the info sloth, havent played all missions with all careers yet ah well, i guess ill have to test it all sometime the most important part for now was the ability to select a 3rd weapon when spawning, im kinda sick of telling ppl that after i saw them playing for a half hour with only the uzi and the high jumping was put in cause of the massive carkilling discussions when 0.4 was released, i remember trx saying something about "looking into increasing the jumping height"

i think staunton and portland are a bit dull compared to the spawning system in shoreside vale and i think that the ssv spawn system is the main reason why nobody plays staunton or portland (ok some do but ssv is #1) another positive thing is that theres no ammunation wars anymore like it used to be in portland, tbh i rarely buy stuff anymore since i already spawn with a good weapon, only for hp if needed my suggestion: in portland, get some new careers too like mafia, diablos and triads... (hmm adds a bit of 0.3b flavour ) in staunton you could use the yardies, the fbi, yakuza and the columbians or how about the army due to the size of staunton? i think 5 careers would be nice

Ive seen many people playing in ssv without knowing basic stuff as how to choose a 3rd weapon in the career screen so i think its time someone writes a sticky with info. the spawn menu you can select your career by scrolling left and right with the keys which are bound to "walk left" and "walk right" you always have a bat and a colt as default but you can choose a third weapon of your choice by pressing "walk foreward" and "walk backward" (you can choose between uzi, shotgun, ak47 and the flamethrower) all those keys DONT work with a joystick (at least not on mine) so make sure you are using the keyboard to select it may happen that you spawn without the 3rd weapon, this is caused by choosing the character too fast, make sure the weapon model loads up on the spawn menu before you respawn buying weapons theres a place where you can buy weapons/health at every spawn location. To buy something you have to press "walk foreward", if you buy the taxi you will be warped to the gamemode selection near the dam, you can also select a gamemode there at anytime without having to pay for a taxi. To select a gamemode press "walk foreward". if a gamemode is running you CANT access the ammo shops at the spawns. pay n spray you can get your vehicle repaired by driving into a pay n spray garage, these are mostly found near the spawn locations careers yakuza spawn location: right next to turtle head, or in other words right above the airport car: yakuza stinger player model: kenji hoods spawn location: witcha gardens car: hoods rumpo player model: 8ball columbian cartel spawn loation: around the villas at the right half of the map car: cartel cruiser player model: miguel cops spawn loaction: around the police station car: cop cars player model: cop gamemodes speed in speed you have to drive the bus for a certain time without going under 50mph or the bus will blow up, once the mode started the bus will show up as a yellow dot on your radar. If you dont want to activate the bomb right at the airport you can drive to a better location as long as you stay under 50mph, if you go over it the bomb will be activated and the time will begin to count down. reward: money van heist van heist is simple, the position of the van will be marked as a yellow dot, if you enter it you will see a new yellow dot on the radar, now all you have to do is drive the van there and park it in the blue marker. After the van blew up (if youre playing as yakuza) make sure you collect the money laying on the ground, ive seen so many people running away once the van blew up without collecting the money. reward: about 4500$ ransack The warehouse is right above the yakuza spawn and marked on the radar, once you enter it you cant get out until the time elapses. Your goal is to collect as many weapon crates as possible but make sure you dont walk into the blue clouds or into the fire, when your oxygen is out you will be loosing health but theres a ventilation at the eastern wall, stand into it and your oxygen bar will recover. reward: money grand theft auto simple mode, all you have to do is to steal the cars of the other gangs and return them to your own spawn. reward: money and a weapon heres a map of shoreside vale with all the spawn and mission locations, thanks to Slothman for that: have i forgot any mode? and does anyone know the exact money rewards for all modes? anything i should add? i just made it sticky for now so that people see it (or even not )

i came 30 mins too late and everyone was just doing anything EXCEPT of DDing ok it was posted a bit late but should we do it next time without a pass? its always cool to see new ppl joining in and then they might come again next time... we could just temp ban all lamas

you dont play gta3 often, do you? you can select your 3rd weapon in the spawn menu using up/down and you get 15 shotgun shells at ammu

the fog has always been there in stunt, since its beginning and its always like 90% fog in my game which pisses me off mostly it turns out in a complete grey screen, models load only when youre right next to them and it feels like grayscale vc whenever ive seen an admin on a stunt server they ALWAYS put sun as soon as fog came well at least from what ive seen ppl always hated the fog in stuntmode btw, the "neutral" poll option is kinda useless if im neutral to a subject i dont have to vote

ive asked eAi about 6 months ago if it would be possible to shoot while jumping and the reply was positive i have intentions to make a dm mod for blue which features shooting while jumping, all new weapons (includes a sawed off shotgun which can be fired while walking like in gtasa) and some pickups like, jump higher for 1 min, maybe double damage and more ontopic: i dont think this suggestion will be considered for the current core, but in blue... run with the m60 if you want (if you make a mod and have a server which runs it)

agreed i think if you would add a super career to the game then everyone would only use that one and the whole game would just change from robber spawn wars to that new careers spawn, the game will never be balanced like that i know that spawn wars and duels can be awesome but i think thats more of a thing for blue, 1 server, running duel mod 24/7

lol you can still play portland in 0.5, this thread will never be outdated as long as theres a map, at least 1 dodo and weapons and umm, actually mad moved it for me imo the world record stunts thread should have been moved too, tho bloody decided to make a new one, i just find it nicer to have a big ass thread that goes on with every new version its cool to read on page 1 "i beat 2000 rotation, beat that!" and on the last page they come up with 10000

yesterday ive seen someone walk around in there i thought it was some crashed player but then after i knocked him out with the bat and he was talking i realised that he was caught up in there

ive only spawned as yakuza on the roof a couple of times and under the ground and sometimes w/o a weapon (shotgun/flamer/ak) but i guess that when you wanna spawn too fast

ive been flying to all kinds of roofs but how do you get THAT high? only ever boost a little?

hah thats nothing, i can get on about every roof in vc with a pizzaboy might post some screens tomorrow
