Yeah it would last two minutes at most, therefore I'm still having some doubts about this gametype... I guess we need some kickass ideas for this to make it more interesting.

I have plans for making the 'Turismo' race for Multiplayer some time.

At first, I wasn't too excited about this gametype either, I preferred to work on something like BF1942 CTF. But the more I think about it, the more I'm starting to like it. And the bus doesn't have to be stopped, just slowed down.

This also has been brought up before, but now that i am assisting in gameplay design, i'm worried by this cheating thing. I know there is a way to check if the player is using an 'illegal' weapon, so we could make him respawn when pulling up an 'illegal' weapon. There is no way people could use tanks as they would never get synced anyways, thus they'd be ruining their own game. As for health/armor checks this is to be done yet, but I don't really think it will be a problem. Note that all of this is for using the common cheats. If trainers are involved, we will need some kind of external tool checkin the use of illegal memory changing, and kicking the player out of the game. This is a lot of work, so we'll concentrate to make stable gamemode's for legitimate players first, then worry about lame ass cheaters later.

Allright, IJsVogel asked me to make this game mode, so I better start working on it =). For now, I have plans on making the Game Mode like this: - One Team (or player) drives the bus freely around Liberty City, and has to keep the speed above 40 for a certain period of time ( 2 mins?) - The other Team drives Rumpo's or Pony's and have to stop the bus. - The bus is bulletproof, explosionproof, fireproof and has quite some amount of hitpoints. - The bus is made heavy with some platinum bars, like in the mission 'Bullion Run', therefore will be harder to stop it. - The team driving the Rumpo's will have the ability to make roadblocks at certain points which will be visible on the radar for the player driving the bus. Any other ideas or suggestions will be taken in to consideration.

lol, I know there is a cheat to change clothes, but that's not the point here. Unless you think everyone is going to type "ilikedressingup" until they get the skin they should have. =P

Darkel is kind of a 'hidden' model in GTA3. Rockstar planned on using him in the game, but never did. You can still use his model when you are creating new missions. I believe Iggy has an Avatar of a picture from Darkel.

So far, I have been unable to display your character as a gangmember like a Diablo or a Mafia, but all other actors like Maria, Joey, Toni, etc etc are available. Currently the team uses the default player model as your character, but all the other players will display as gangmembers. I am currently researching some other options, and to keep you guys amused, I have created a Poll so you can choose which characters could be on the Diablo Team in the Capture the Whoopee mission. Ofcourse, the Mafia are easier. They are ( for now ): Salvatore, Joey, Toni, Luigi, Mickey, Maria, Misty and Eightball. It's only too bad you can only select one Character per Poll, or I'd have you pick three.

No offense, but what does it have to do with GTA3? I agree it could be fun to do, but I really doubt that this is what the MTA team had in mind when creating Multiplay. I do like the initial idea, with heavy cars beating another car around toward somekind of goal. The problem is, that there arent really big enough locations in LC to do this withouh altering the original map. Ideas?

We still havent determined how to display the locations of other players. This is a tricky problem, which has been discussed over at the old forums, as well as here (somewhere). We were wondering about the dots being on the outer ring of the radar, never leaving that ring. That way, you will know what direction to go, but don't know how far. (like the original GTA 1)

You're Right xerox, that could become a problem. I think that the best 'Assault' location would be where you'd have at least two entrances. Something like the underground parking cellar of that same building would work, or the Multistorey carpark. I do like the idea, and if that building had more ways of getting up, it would be a perfect idea. Maybe put a flag up there, to make CTF style missions like in BF1942, where you have to stand next to a flag for several seconds, with no enemy around to make it your team's flag. That way, most people will not camp at the top of those stairs, since they will be guarding only one flag, and you can't win with just one flag, now can you?

I too, am very disappointed to see some MTA 'fans' behave the way they do, now that the release date has been delayed. I say: how dare you to expect someone you dont even know, to do things for you, for free AND within a certain time? I can not believe the ignorance some people display here. It is truly shameful.

Which dodobomber mod? there are two: one is from Barton which let's you do vigilante missions in a dodo. he has 3 or 4 extra dodo's placed in the city. I don't know the exact locations of all of them: read the readme included. One i do know though, it is near the water behind salvatore's mansion. The other one is a mission for Darkel which is mine, and if you installed it correctly, everything will have markers (dots on radar) so you really cannot miss it. But if you have, the dodo is in the hangar on the Francis International Airport. -
I don't know where you found it, but that page isn't real. It's some kind of (sick) prank. If you would go one folder up from that link, you will see a nice ftp which was made on 23 march. Also, even if it were real, it doesn't really have anything to do with MTA except for a mission plot maybe...

I know the pictures on this forum and on the website are from modded cars and maps, but please keep your version of GTA3 clean! Meaning a clean install, and only official updates (patch 1.1). That way, there are going to be no conflicts with collision data, carspeeds, firepower, and so on. If you want to continue using your mods for singleplayer, just make a clean install for GTA3 Multiplayer at a different location. If you want to use your mods in multiplayer without conflicts, you and the rest of the players should have the EXACT same modifications.

Some cheats such as weapon cheats will not be very hard to check for within the mission code itself, and actions can then be taken. For example, if there are no missile launchers in the game, but some player selects one, the player could be respawned or even kicked. The same would work for cars/tanks/dodo's. But I would guess that some programs would simply overrule the mission code, so some kind of anti-mod would probably do the job better. Things like unlimited health can really destroy a good game, so for now, its probably best to have some kind of manual system to kick the cheaters when caught. Maybe have a voting system for that.

I like the layout on those pics GTAtari, nice work. I agree it would look better like that. But it's all about functionality for now, maybe they should have a look at those pics for future versions, though.
