The AO version doesnt have the patch I believe. Which is why it's rated AO, so they can keep selling it, and not worry about the hot coffee. Once the patch is in the games, it should be back to 1.01. Easiest test, install hot coffee, and see if it works. If it does, you have 1.0. Also, they said that they successfully hooked blue into 1.01, it just needs a few changes.

you always ask the mod dev if you can dl his mod? That doesn't need to be asked, cause the mod put the file there in the first place then you got permission to download it. But this is a much diffrent thing, this guy post someone else mod on another site, that isint allowed unless he actually has permission from the one who has copyrighted it. And maybe the mod developer doesn't want his mod linked on this forum ? So he technically needs permission to post the file here. Windows made "Windows Vista Beta1" and now many sites put Vista up for download and that's warez. I know no one cares about internet laws around here, but it's diffrent rules on diffrent contries, but if the guy lives in same country as you and you break the rules by putting download links to his files, and you don't have permission or use his pictures then he has the rights to sue you . You're very wrong man. The Windows Vista download isn't a good example. Vista is being HOSTED on those places without MS's permission. These are just links to the mods, and the files aren't actually being hosted on the MTA server. There's a bit of a difference. Linking to these mod sites is just like saying, "Here's a good mod site *link here*" There's no difference really, except for the fact that he's posting some links to mods that he likes. The files are hosted on a server that he agreed to have them on, and they are being distributed on that site. You still have to go there to download them. These are just links to those areas on that site. Plus, this isn't a commercial product, these are freely distributed mods. You're logic is clearly flawed.

It would be possible too, with the ability to create DirectX displays on the screen, you could easily do the matrix code. As well as map mods/player models.

One of the best thing's you guys have done. We'll finally be informed of the progress, and we'll actually know you guys are doing something. Good job, just make sure it gets put to proper use -
Yea, I just noticed the mobility radeons are different. However, they only have support for the x700 and x800 Mobility Radeons. Dunno man.

Well dude, let me say what I forgot to say before, welcome to the team. I can easily say you're my favorite team member so far, and you are taking the team in a new direction. It's good to have such a talented coder working with MTA. I'm glad that you treat the community as people, and not like customers (too professionally) as other team members do. You seem to be agreeing with the fact that MTA gave a lack of updates and didn't keep the community involved, which is a big plus in my respect factor towards you. You seem to be pushing for more updates, and are supporting more updates as well. If MTA actually keeps the community INVOLVED AND INFORMED, then I believe I can be happy with MTA again. You're addition to the team has changed my view on the way they are headed, so good luck

Can somebody explain what he just said? His grammar and punctuation is absolutely horrid. -
Even though Chief has the utmost disrespect for me, I do hope he gets better. He doesn't deserve to lose his life over this, and I truely do hope he gets better.

MTA:SA Progress (29/07/2005 @ 02:29 CET) by Bloodymess13

With all due respect to the team, here's something that even sloth thinks should be posted. With the first release of MTASA (and blue) being a race-only mod to tide us over with until it's fixed up, is just silly. That's like Microsoft releasing a version of Windows to the public (yes, the public), without system tools and a complete gui; then having them tell us to use it to tide us over until they fix it up and release the fixes and fully complete version. -
The GTA multiplayer community is pretty small so news travels fast. Stanton leaked the files onto this very forum if I recall correctly, although it got removed pretty quickly. I'm sure somebody quick got his hands on the source code. Oh yeah and they said they will own mta, gtat etc and every other vice online game, but infact they did not. This shows what people will do just to get players to play there game. They even had a defence threads here at mtavcforums, saying they will pwn mta, then they said wait and see etc. To the first quote: It was only the client/serv in VERY early, basic form. To the second quote: With stanton as the leader, it wouldn't have went very far. Stanton had no clue what he was talking about, and wanted to use methods that would make it seem like the smoothest thing of earth, despite how much lag there really was. Let's say without the weird method VMP used for smoothing, the player would look like this | | | | on the screen, but what they used, it was basically a "go to point" option, which basiclly had the server tell the client that the player was going from *here* to *here* and the client moved the player, causing the player to look like there was no lag.

Close all chat windows/internet windows. It's probably detecting some sort of text/app that's setting it off. Make sure you're only running MTA/GTA, nothing else.
-
It's called read the f*ckin rules before you post. Even if you are new, you shoulda knew to search first if you had actually read the rules. Also, disrespecting an MTA dev isn't going to get you far.

The fx5200 is better. That Radeon is massively outdated compared to the fx5200. The fx at least supports directx 9... Radeons 9500+, thats when you get DX9 support with Radeons. The fx5200 and up has DX9 support.

This is looking even better and better, and it's been really quick progress as well. Lookin good.

i played MTA for the first time in about..... 7 months a few days ago.

I'm shocked its actually gonna be 0.1 it should be 1.0 They're starting off with nothing, so it's going to be 0.1 But yea, I agree. This looks like something that would've came around closer to 1.0, but hey, I'm not complaining
-
Three new screens allready, and it's lookin better with each update. There seems to be quite a bit of sync in it, even at this early stage of development. It's going to be a shock at how much is done when 0.1 reaches 100%

It's looking VERY nice indeed. Congrats to their team
