ehrm do you really not understand? you friends cannot connect using localhost... you need to give them your internet ip given to you by your ISP

Me and my friend allso had that with Jedi Academy. It might be something with the port ranges. you see one half and he the other half. That you don't see them does not mean you can not connect to them. so give the ip of the server you join to your friend to use in quick connect or vice versa.

I had this problem in single player with my onboard chip. The onboard sound chip supports up to X number of channels. and you wont hear any more sound if the channels are used allready (in your situation the mp3 channel). I've bought a sound card recently wich ofcourse works way better than just an onboard chip. but I think this problem allso might come with mta itself becouse even I with my new sound card somethimes have missing sound... (in mta)

ofcourse if I play I have some lag I even don't notice (veary few) and it all runs smoothly @ 100fps but that's not of the matter now. just some stupid words... about the memory saving. like BD said it's good to shut down as many processses as possible. and I recommend explorer.exe it shuts down your desktop and saves lots of memory. then just open taskmanager again if it isn't still open and use new task and browse to multi theft auto.exe

xfire does not support it. as it isn't in the supported games list. xfire works with mta, but not supports it unless there's a small fix released as they did with GTASA but I dont think they did.

hmm how long is the wait then? in your manual of the router there's given an ip you should connect to using an internetbrowser. Then you can adjust it's settings. My router's ip is 10.0.0.138 (wireless) but other people have 169.x.x.x or some IP I don't really know but you have to search in your manual for the IP.

after the release of 1.1.1, MTA worked fine again. and I can connect to my own (network) server. so the problem has to do something with your pc.
