Theres definately no spyware of any kind in mta, or in VC for that matter. Firstly where did you download mta from? It's possible someone may have offered an infected version (most virii can be attatched to ANY executable) so if you downloaded from anywhere but mtavc.com or our mirrors thats a possibility. Secondly did you download Vice City? If so the same applies, and frankly you deserve what you get if it IS a pirated copy and you became infected in this way. Thirdly its possible, although unlikely, that you have a virus that just happened to infect the first executable you ran afterwards, in your case Vice city. My money is on option two.

No I mean you seem to be driving yourself to release an update every couple of weeks, leading to errors, unwanted (and downright silly) features and then the need to release yet another update to fix the previous one. Why update for the sake of it?

Did you remove your old card (drivers etc not just physically) and re-install the latest DirectX after intalling your new cards drivers? Also try deleting the gta_vc.set file in /my documents/grand theft auto vice city/ directory. This is written the first time you start the game and stores information on your video and sound hardware, so may have invalid entries causing your problem.

People tend to be interested in progress and the latest MTA breakthroughs. If you are not then simply skip the download. As for bullshit, that would imply that they were somehow not genuine, yet they were captured direct from testing, so perhaps you are actually referring to your statements?

Personally I think its an example of Bandwidth Bigotry. In most online games the lagger has a destinct disadvantage, easy to die hard to kill others, game freezes you on the spot on occasion etc. Result, they get moaned at. In MTA they get a slight advantage of sorts (like low pingers do in other games) result, they are moaned at.
