EUNA Championship 2 VC - www.v51-euna.tz4.com
Si|ent replied to Hieu.JZX26's topic in Leagues and events
I'm not sure thread size is indicative of success. Rather the opposite if anything It got to a final however, and a great one by the sound of it. Something no other competition has managed. Congrats FMJ -
What happened to the postcounts?

What a paranoid fellow. -
No reason why not. It doesnt even require any synchronisation, (It's not a big deal if nobody sees you lift the camera to your face), it's basically client-side so it should work fine with little to no work.

Sorry but this kind of blatant advertising is the worst kind if spam and isn't acceptable on these forums. Link removed.

Ok firstly there is no MTA:Blue as such, theres MTA which in future will be built upon the new core, the CORE is codename blue. Now you understand that I'm sure you'll understand that we aim to have all weather conditions available eventually. Wether you used them or not would be down to the mod maker or the server host.
-
It should be noted there was very little optimisation used during the vehicle sync testing, that was yet to be coded in at the time. It was 'raw' sync if you like. We just felt the breakthrough was exciting enough to share with the community.

And yet you still ask?
-
What has height got to do with it?

fbimaster please stop giving advice on here. You clearly don't know what you are talking about.
-
Agreed. But if information is incomplete you need to indicate that fact. Not present it as complete.
-
Well if you couldn't do it perhaps it wasn't the best idea to put it up until either you could, or someone else could.
-
That MTA History is just that. History. You might want to bring it up to date as it stops at MTAVC 0.2.2.

There are already progress indicators on mtavc.com, and have been for a long time. We are more likely to remove those ones than add additional ones to subsections. Once everything is in place the regular information posted will replace the need for the innacurate and sometimes misleading progress bars.

GTAryan we have a section for other GTA modifications, try there. This is a thread for a news item, don't go offtopic please.

Basically that's right. We are not using scms anymore. And nor will mod makers need to.

Should free-aiming for drivers be allowed in MTA:SA?
Si|ent replied to a topic in General discussion
He's referring to blue based MTA, not old core. Driveby syncing isn't an issue. -
Blue core has been built from day one with modding in mind, MTA:SA is being built upon it at the moment. You'll be able to take control of lots of elements using c++ and the SDK we will provide. You'll not need to use scm coding at all, its slow, limited and unstable in comparison to what blue makes possible. The first moddable releases will probably be limited, we may not have implemented some things for you to manipulate at first. The eventual aim however, through regular updates and mod maker liason, is to include everything that could possibly be required by a mod maker. You should also be able to use current modifications, although some may require some tweaking to be compatible. Along with the more basic elements of modding such as customised cars, maps etc. Do note this wont ALL be possible immidiately, but we hope within a reasonable timespan.

It's simpler than that GTAATARI, Rockstar were tied to a contract with sony for the three gta3 based games, gta3, vc, sa. Now they've fulfilled thier contractual obligations they are free to develop for whatever platform they wish, and include multiplayer, develop engines etc. The quote i mentioned in my previous post does touch on gta4 having an entirely new engine.

Really? Thats odd, in my game CJ just continues running away from it when he exits, with the camera zooming into him. As I am pressing 'S' (back) to get him to run towards me anyway (out). The more I play and the greater my skill ratings get with the weapons the more I love this new system. I guess it's like marmite. Love it or hate it, nothing in-between. (Although I suspect a lot of it is simply 'it's different therefore we hate it' without judging it on its own merits )

Set jump to a closer key then. Personaly I use the Spacebar as its right under my thumb when using WASD.
-
Fight in a combat crouch, if you do this he DOES walk backwards. You are harder to hit and accuracy is vastly improved too.

interesting to recall that Counter Strike was a free, fan-made modification originally There was some talk about GTA4 by the CEO of Rockstar a year or two ago, which I quoted on the forum somewhere (search for it) where he also mentioned their stance in regards to making an online GTA in the future.
