As has been said in many other thread yes, this is a well known problem, now im sure you mean well posting this but PLEASE search the forums first before posting to make sure you arent repeating old posts (you are)

20 peds per player, 32 player server, = 640 peds, plus cars, plus players if peeps are all in different places.... unworkable. The gta3 engine has limits, thats why the peds 'fade in' around you in the single player game rather than it rendering the city full simultaniously (same go's for the traffic), this isnt the singleplayer, we don't need peds and yes online rpgs can handle many npc's and be playable on dialup, they are much less versatile that gta3 tho, no cars, no aircraft etc, and more importantly they are made from the ground up to BE an online game. Not a hack of something that wasn't intended to be anything but the best single player game series ever.

Not version 0.2 no, that doesnt exist yet or it would be released, it is the last client test build that remained compatible with the current server version, so it doesnt have many of the features and fixes the latest build has, the client itself crashes regularly for instance, but i put up with that as it is invaluable for determining which users are cheating on the official servers i admin. And the long term testing of this version has helped to bring to light bugs that might otherwise have been missed and carried on into later builds.

Yes, try the irc channel in my signature. All servers advertised there are on decent connections and you have the advantage of being in the same channel as the admins if you have any problems with suspected cheating or abusive/disruptive players.

Hmm ok, u said GFX drivers rather than detonator, so i presumed you meant your card manufacturers latest ones. Play with 30fps then, as anything more is barely noticable to the human eye (cinema for instance used 24fps and your brain is tricked into seeing that as smooth motion)

Make the most of these as they wont work in version 0.2

Get the latest nvidia detonator drivers, as mentioned on the news page by blokker. they include a specific fix for your problem. Then you can play without frame limiter or missing textures

I wasn't playing dumb my freind, i didnt understand what you where asking. As I stated. The current test build does use a seperate key for getting in as a passenger, so obviously you can still jack a car as usual if you prefer. Bus, yes there is a bus and a coach, but these are actually single seat vehicles, as when peds get into them the just get swallowed up, you do not see them go to a specific seat, the only seat in fact is the drivers that can be filled by the player. I've talked to TRX and Headfonez about the possibility of 'hacking' the coaches somehow to allow more than one player to enter, but this is somethign that will be looked into in the future when more pressing issues and additions are dealt with.

I agree, there is little point posting this, when it is work that has already been long completed and posted by raiden, especially when your is inferior. Yes it is a larger resolution, but it has cars missing, requires people to visit somewhere ELSE before they can find the download link (why?) has information that isnt relevant to the multiplayer game (asset locations, pay'n'sprays. ammunations etc) and is poorly thought out for its original purpose, ie finding what vehicle is where at a quick glance.

Roger Wilko works fine with mta, as its a seperate application entirely, i presume team chat and any of the many others would too. It would take time and work to add a built in voice chat feature, and even then it would be unlikely to be as effective as one of the aforementioned apps. Counterstrikes built in voice comms are rarely used by clans for instance, as RW is more controllable, better quality and hits your ping less. So my advice is use something made specifically for the purpose

Warzone. Large custom built outside arena, Military skins, Hunters, Rhinos, Bullet proof Hummers and troop carrying trucks. To make this worthwhile it would need to be an almost total conversion tho, replacing the current map with a suitable outside environment of wartorn countryside. And would need servers dedicated solely to it, so perhaps not really fitting for the near future. Would be enormous fun tho.

Check your personal filters, make sure you arent blocking the servers somehow. like 'only show servers with ping less than 50' or 'over 40 players' or something silly as this will obviously stop it showing any mta servers at all.

I run windows 2000 pro, usually it drops to desktop and i get to click 'ok' on the UE error, then have to click cancel quickly on the 'windows is debugging' (DR Watson) thing, occasionally though that damn thing starts up before i am back at desktop and i have to wait for it to finish (2 or 3 minutes) before i can continue or restart, perhaps somethig like this is happening to you, although im not sure if the Dr Watson debugger is also in windowsXP as i detested that OS so much i went straight back to windows2000.

Tough, quite frankly. MTA requires an unaltered version of vice city to run. So either copy your current to a new directory then uninstall/reinstall to get a fresh one to play mta with, or dont play mta. In cs and other FPS can you mod the weapons damage and fire rate and still play online? no, this would be called cheating In F1 online games can you modify the speed and handling of the cars and still play online? no this would be called cheating

No extra skin needed, i used the title terminator to give you the general idea, any skin will do, no he wont regenerate or have any speed bonuses, he can use any vehicle he finds. Bullets can harm him, as can cars, bullets do normal damage, cars do reduced damage. Mikiro he already has double armour and 10 x normal hp, so 1/2 damage from bullets would make it too hard to kill. theres no VIP, just the victim, and they are a puny human the same as everyone else, no special powers no special limitations other than only being able to see the terminators blip on the radar to provide that 'fear factor' For the same reason she/he shouldnt have infinate run disabled, as walking away doesnt provide that same rush of fear adrenaline

This just came to me so i havnt thought it thru, but something like: One player is the Terminator, 1000 health, 200 armour. extra strength so able to pull off car doors when jacking, and take little damage from cars hitting him (like solo 'drugged up slowmo' mode) One player is the 'target' normal health and armour All other players see a red dot on radar for terminator, a green dot for target. Terminator only sees the target (gren dot) on their radar. Target only sees the terminator (red dot) on their radar Terminator has to kill target. Target has to survive. All others have to try and break down and kill terminator to protect the target.

80% with 10 players on the server, if u have three lamers/cheaters/exploiters/flooders/idiots then u get no succesfull kick-vote Also to be taken into account are those that are afk and dont see the vote etc.

There seems to be 'issues' for most windows98x users, it may be that mta never fully supports those outdated operating systems, much like many other new games and applications. I guess it all depends on if the team have the time to concentrate on that, or even feel it is a priority. I can heartily recommend window2000PRO, or even XP if you prefer more hand holding, or you are not too knowledgable about the nooks and crannies of Wondows.
