June/July might also have a boost, August should bring us new records too if the trends are consistent. Right now we are probably in a small dip as people are studying for finals and such.

It's for bandwidth while playing. Bandwidth - "The energy or mental capacity required to deal with a situation." The situation here being playing MTA. Essentially it'll use less packet data, sync less often, but you can fit more users on a smaller internet pipe.
