Did removing it fix it? eAi

    MTA Error Report Tool

356 error reports so far (88% Vice City), 24.79% are from a single error (vehicle related). Only 15.49% of reports had user's "notes" attached to them (bad). 85% of you used VC 1.0. 5.6% are running Windows XP (No service packs), 49% are running Windows XP SP1, 29.3% are running Windows XP SP2, 13.24% are running Windows 2000 SP4 and 2 of you are running Windows 98 SE (strangely). Keep it up! eAi
  3. Yes, Kent doesn't understand that the "glue" feature can be accessed through the scm and concequently will be avaliable to addon developers. We may create an easier to use method, but we'll see. eAi

    MTA Error Report Tool

In an effort to make the next release of MTA 0.4 (not the new core) as stable as possible, we've just released a new tool which reports information about MTA's crashes to us so that we can fix them. You can download the tool at http://www.opencoding.net/ereport/MTA-ERT-13.zip (194KB). Installation is very easy, just open the zip file and choose the relevant installer (GTA3 and/or Vice City) and you're done. When an error occurs, you'll get a new dialog that may as you to fill out an error report to tell us what was happening. This is, of course, optional. Thanks for downloading the tool, and helping solve the crashes! If you have any problems with the tool, use the comments area to tell us. Also see the discussion thread on this topic at viewtopic.php?t=9703
  5. Just released another update, enough for the moment. We've had 55 error reports, and I can already see some patterns. The more people who use this the better, and thankyou everyone whos taken part (especially if you've written a report!). eAi
  6. I've just released a new version which you can download from http://www.opencoding.net/ereport/MTA-ERT-12.zip If you're using an old version (lots of people are), you'll be prompted to upgrade. eAi
  7. I can fix that from here I expect, i'll check whats causing it. eAi
  8. Its possible. You'd probably get that effect if theres an error in my code... I've uploaded a very slightly modified version (same link as before) that should implement some more checking. Try that, see if it works then. We'll get it working perfectly eventually. Thats not somthing we can really check very easily, but the this program will still catch those crashes, so we can see what caused them.eAi
  9. It should have come up... Are you sure it wasn't sitting in the taskbar with GTA?eAi
  10. * Update! * Fixed a small bug where the game's window wouldn't minimize when the error occured. http://www.opencoding.net/ereport/MTA-ERT-11.zip People using the old version will be instructed to upgrade by a box somthing like: eAi
  11. Updated URL with a new "improved" (i.e. should work) version. Remember to read the readme. eAi
  12. Ok, there seems to be some strange issue going on here. It works fine in single player, but (for me) refuses to work in MTA... I'm looking into it. eAi
  13. hm. You've got the file MTAErrorReport.asi in your vc folder? Is that your normal one? My normal one is much smaller. I have a feeling we don't capture those messages... eAi
  14. Added an error message screenshot so you can see what to expect. eAi
  15. If you get a "missing file" error when gta starts, make sure you have the files scm_vice.ini and scm_gta3.ini in your game folder(s). If you don't have them in the original zip file, download it again, they're now included. Sorry about that eAi
  16. Quite probably, the code can be reused fairly easily, but for the moment, lets try to sort 0.4 eAi
  17. * Update 3: Now sends us some more data that I forgot to include initially . Probably the last updates for some time. * Ok, we've decided that we'd like to do somthing about all those crashes you have, so I whipped up (thanks to Kyeman for the original base) an error reporting tool. I haven't had much chance of testing it, but I'd like you lot to have a go... Download here: http://www.opencoding.net/ereport/MTA-ERT-13.zip Please use the 'Add Notes' feature to tell us more about the error, it makes our life much easier! The readme explains what the tool does. In case you're wondering what to expect (and hope not) to see, here is the dialog: We'd like as many people on as many systems to install this so that we can get a wide view of what causes the crashes. Please don't worry about it affecting your game or your system, it shouldn't. If it does, tell me. eAi
  18. Just like you loose your score if you crash any other online game. eAi
  19. With the blue addons you should be able to do pretty much whatever you want, within reason. If you can't do it, we'll do our best to implement it after we release. eAi

    GTA 3 Stunts

You can't copyright a phrase, you can copyright a document, or trademark a phrase. eAi
  21. I don't think the requirements for MTA are much higher than Vice City's (which you can see at http://www.rockstargames.com/grandtheft ... /index.htm - click "System Specs", then "Recommended Spec"), i.e. 1.2Ghz+, 64Mb gfx card, though lower should be fine (i've played on 700mhz just about ok). eAi
  22. Some of the team members are professional developers. Hiring a professional developer doesn't suddenly get anything done. The kind of thing we're doing has never really been done before, so concequently even a "professional developer" would need to learn how to do it. Its not going to happen. eAi
  23. A feature that distorts the space time continuum? A couple of hours maybe? eAi
  24. Ditto. If you look at the posts on here, you'll see lots of people saying "is it worth buying the PC version for MTA?", and most of them end up doing so. I'm sure only a small percentage ask first, so I expect theres some other users who bought it for MTA... Which is nice eAi
