The fact the mod has been voted as one of the top ten influential is very interesting. I suppose it was chosen from the sheer fact how far the mod has come over the past 7 years and still going strong. I wouldn’t expect many to bet on having the resources we have today back in the early days of existence.

It was a well written guide and gave an insight to many beginners. So do it Robhol, otherwise, I think another slap is heading in your direction as always.

I remember the European Championships a few years back, old memories from the past. I must say the original idea was a success and countries facing another started becoming regular in general. I did try to set up a Balkan state side in the day, though there werent many people from my region playing back then. Good luck with this competition. It seems to have shown plenty of interest.

I do miss the activeness of this section of the forum, though many of the posts were arguments against pointless debates. I must admit, I do miss the old match hype. I haven’t played in a “tournament” for a long while. I think I could try and throw FMJ in there if you do get a reasonable number of participants.

GTA2 use to have some quality missions. I always remember the times rolling with the Zaibatsu. There was one mission in particular when you had to blow up the Yakuza’s base I think and you were given like 20 hitman.. yet half of them would die when you were trying to get across the road, let alone exchange gunfire!

It’s good to see the numbers increase again, I think a few of us who have been around the block remember the old times of capacity. It seems word has spread round and people are taking more notice of this mod and its capabilities.

It is possible for you to even create your own game mode and perhaps give something to the community which nobody has seen before, though this would require a handful of programming skill and plenty of creativity. It’s not everyday we get people introducing themselves to our forum, so welcome aboard. It will be interesting to see what you can learn with LUA, considering you’ve stated you have worked with other projects before, learning a new language will be a good opportunity alongside creating something new for the community perhaps.

I don’t care what people say but it’s nice to see that there are guys still interested in the rebirth of such a great game, while many old scholars will say the same about GTA3. 0.5 was NOTHING compared to the days of 0.3, you should look into the history, great times. HeroTerror, a lot of players come by and ask the exact question you have and to be honest, all we can do is wait and see what the future holds. I have been around this block for years, as like many others, and from experience I would say that many of us can’t compare the days of MTA now to what it was all those years ago. I think if VC and GTA3 were to come back, they would be cult classics in this community of ours, though this as always depends on the demand of the community. In the meantime, I would just be patient, we might just have to accept that nothing will come back, though with guys like Towncivilian contributing, never say never.
