I think it is the smallest things which are making the difference between the populations. I believe Ransom made a few points of indication earlier. The whole project is not yet in the palm of the community’s hands, such as the anti-cheat system, the release of an adequate map editor, controller support and other miscellaneous features. We all know it’s just a development preview and this is one thing that people must realise and not forget.

5 years is one heck of an achievement for a project like this. Best highlight for me was starting the mod for the first time and I’ve never look back since. I spawned as a sailor alongside a mate of mine, we were on the phone for about 25 minutes and the bill cost us both about £10 each! All we did was walk up and down the deck of the ship doing absolutely nothing and not realising that we were the only ones on the server. Newbs.

JBags, you’ve mentioned that when you open MTA the settings do not load to the standard you want. When you load MTA have you gone into the Settings tab and altered the controls via the Load Default action or have you just gone straight onto a server without any configuration? This is for the inverted mouse, which annoys me also.

It would be good at least if everyone didn’t decide to just fly around and ignore the fighting, you’ll get those types of players no matter what but then again no one would care less because of how fast you could travel in a chase. Swapping guns for the ability to have different powers would be a neat bonus as to what Tubbie mentioned.

To be honest, the choices are so varied with the ability to create anything through LUA, it depends on the scenario. If tables were introduced, say an official league where standings, statistics and everything else was counted, then it be simple for the teams to arrange which type of match both sides want to play instead of just sticking to one choice. Tournament wise, it can be broken down to a variety of different matches depending on the stage of the competition. I think the fundamental of using the old attack, defend and free roam system will benefit most.

All the options in the list can be played through a match between two or more teams, the possibilities seem endless with the editors. It’s such a huge step from the basic matches we were use too during the past. I’m more old-school so I’d favour playing 2/3 falls on Classic Team Deathmatch.

RPG is more of an add-on to the MTA theme, whether people agree with me or not. The primary focus should always be what GTA has given us since day one, the ability to have a stack load of firearms and cause mayhem. The word Deathmatch should be used as the frontline to introduce new players into the community because of how GTA is originated.
