i have a spare windows 2003 server in an office at a local community centre with a 512k sdsl connection, doing nothing. if anyone wants me to host an mtama script or something for their server, msn me. first come first served.

Make sure that you have ports 2003, 2126 and 4003 forwarded through you router/firewall if you have one.

Don't go renaming any files, or MTA will rape you. Make sure you remove the 'read only' attribute from the Grand Theft Auto Vice City folder, and all it's subfolders and files. Then install the patch.

Do a clean install of the game, and then read the Known Issues thread.

256Kbps or above would be ideal for any online game, but it should work decently well on dialup.
