  1. If you are ingame when you connect to a server, the MOTD can get 'stuck'
  2. It may be an opinion, but whoever thinks otherwise severely lacks common sense. GTA:T crashes when you press C. Yeah, lets all go play that, sounds like a blast. Not to mention they can't even keep their site running. And if the MTA Team were to use the main.scm, that would completely eliminate single player. Using a different SCM allows multiplayer and single player.
  3. What I'm afraid will happen is this: There will be 500 servers, all with one person in them, wishing for people to go in and test 'their mod', wich they probably spent weeks on.
  4. Do what DJ said. Select the head, save the head as head.z3d. Select the left arm, save the left arm as leftarm.z3d. Select the right arm, save the right arm as rightarm.z3d. Do this with every body part. Merge all the files together, export as dff

  8. lol eagle, the bone structures are entirely different. If you was trying to convert gta3 > vice city I could help you out, but i dont play gta3 anymore. A friend of mine knows how to do it, DJ muppetmaster. He has an account here and at GTAForums, pm him and he'll be happy to help

  10. Sounds like either a glitch or you two have different SCM's.
  11. But what about the windows? You'd just see static images through the window and it wouldn't look as if you were moving. You can only tell that you are moving if you look at stationary objects slipping past you. It would be more entertaining to actually see people inside the bus, but its not like there would be some huge difference if you was just teleported to the spawn building. The camera is fully capable of following particular cars, as you would notice in spectator mode.
  12. Well, doing some research with the bus, I'm not sure if vc's default bus would work. Yeah, you go in single player, you see a bunch of people get on a bus. Then the game destroys those peds. It re-creates them when the bus stops and they get out. So who knows what would happen if you tried to get in the bus as a passenger.

  14. [/b] Yeah, almost. But I'm afraid it wouldnt 'glue'. The car would move and the player would just stay where he's at. Freezes his XYZ. The glue they speak of, I believe, is the put_player_in_turret_mode opcode. From what I've tested, this has only worked in first person view, but they may be able to hack their way around that.
  15. Kryptos, yes I realize what you mean. X does not always mean to your left. - or + X is always the same direction, no matter what direction your facing. A few months ago I took a quick look at Spooky's source and found it confusing, my knowledge of C++ is nowhere near as good as VB. Is there not an opcode that outputs the players current rotation (x or y to be exact), because I think I could come up with some kind of formula to generate what is left and right of that.
  16. I think you screwed up on your quote. Anyway, I honestly can't say at the moment, because I don't have a copy of vice on this computer. I'm at my dad's for the new year. But I'm sure a developer knows the answer to that. My guess would be is it freezes your XYZ and your ability to walk. I think you can still rotate and shoot and stuff.
  17. Woah... That wouldnt be possible through programming, you would have to edit the DFF model file to do that, which MTA wouldnt do. Shoot, I'd edit the model in a split second if this option were available in MTA. Oh, and there is already a bus model that has an interior that you can walk into. I wish they would do this, but since the sync of cars can be sloppy sometimes, I think some players would get killed riding inside. Like they might accidentally get thrown out of sync, somehow end up in front of the bus, and get ran over.
  18. If a ped was driving the bus, you could go inside the bus and it would drive you around. You'd probably be pressed up against the end though. Hmm, what about the freeze_player opcode.. I wonder if that freezes his XYZ or his movement. Or both..
  19. 2-5 ping? and theres still lag? christ... I don't think thats lag. Since animation forces movement, I think its just the player moving a bit too far, then going back.. er...
  20. Make the bus walk-in-able in 0.4.5, so like 10 ppl can all walk around in there while someone drives.

  22. I've never ran a lan server, I'd imagine it would be a lot smoother. Is there any fraps videos of lan games?

  24. What coach? Speaking of bus's, something that would be extremely fun, would be if you could walk inside the bus, with all of your friends. Imagine a katana sword fight between 15 people packed in a bus driving 100mph.
