Bladexen Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 MTA team do u thinks its possible that you can make a MTA for gta2 i mean since u can download it for free leagly at the rockstar clasics section. BTW: Guess Who's Back? ME! http://img364.imageshack.us/img364/7263/mtaban2copyqc3.jpg
orappa Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 Assuming that it's even physically possible, I doubt demand would be sufficient to make it worthwhile. Plus it has its own rudimentary multiplayer. MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. MTA:SA Troubleshooting - Read this first if you have problems.
Scorp Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 No, what we need is a dedicated server tool of some kind something that would be listed on ASE too, that would be great Retired Dodo Killer.
Hawk_Boy Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Doesn't the downloaded GTA2 have multiplayer? I was thinking the same thing w00t my 100th post
Slothman Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 i was waiting for someone to say that. eAi. It's fun to watch dumb threads grow. Check out my recent work: ZDay - a zombie script Slothbot - an AI deathmatch bot my community profile (all my resources)
+FKU+VVolven Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Yes it does, think he was getting at something else though, like MTA's little nuances such as career spawns, vehicle spawn locations and the like. But yeah, a dedicated GTA2 server would be pretty sweet, tried out the MP but it's not that fun when no one knows you're running a server.

MrJax Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 erm, learn to spell...then go away. Vice City is gettin better all the time thanks to MTA. Maybe even SA later on.

orappa Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Doesn't the downloaded GTA2 have multiplayer? Isn't it lobby-based though, rather than "drop-in" like MTA? MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. MTA:SA Troubleshooting - Read this first if you have problems.
Mealing Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 erm, learn to spell...then go away. Vice City is gettin better all the time thanks to MTA. Maybe even SA later on. I agree vice city is getting better, but it isn't all thanks to MTA.. MTA team do u thinks its possible that you can make a MTA for gta2 i mean since u can download it for free leagly at the rockstar clasics section. There already is multiplayer as someone else said, but i think a server list would be great.
Scorp Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Doesn't the downloaded GTA2 have multiplayer? Isn't it lobby-based though, rather than "drop-in" like MTA? Yes it looks quite like an client, only the games have to be planned before, it's also quite annoying when the server host or anyone in the game crashes. The game stops for everybody. I wish someone could be arsed to do a dedicated server Retired Dodo Killer.
Gareth Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 it surely wouldn't take too long for coders like the MTA Team or as experienced as the MTA Team to make a simple client like MTA. Scorp isnt there some GTA Mod Dev forum you should go suggest the idea there or see if there is one developed already!
Scorp Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Scorp isnt there some GTA Mod Dev forum you should go suggest the idea there or see if there is one developed already! Actually I read about it on GTAF, the idea has been discussed already. But I don't think there's any alternative server done. Retired Dodo Killer.
Gareth Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 theres another website where a lot of GTA development is going on at me just cant think of url lolz
orappa Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 it surely wouldn't take too long for coders like the MTA Team or as experienced as the MTA Team to make a simple client like MTA. Yes, but it's not like GTA3 / VC so you could not make a "simple client like MTA" with it. MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. Gareth Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 im sure anything can be done with a bit of research (and it already has a basic online mode) so why cant ppl expand this to a new level.
