what would be so important in that file.i installed gta vc user directatory into rocktargames which is in program files

lol the exe is what compiles and launches all the scripts there for creating your game and the exe holds a lot more than that. if anything it is the most important file in the game

Omg. Ask you dad, fatphil. ..installing the user files.. You really have no clue, so best to let someone with brains handle it.

uh the game works fine no stupid problems ecept mta

Uh huh... I see... what error does MTA come up with when you try to launch into a game?

Or doesn't it let you try, because you can't locate the exe?

Keep in mind that MTA doesn't work on some foriegn versions (such as Aussie), so if it says "Failure detecting version of Vice City" or something similar, that could very well be the problem.

me too! man so your saying i wasted all that time patching my game from 1.0 to 1.1 and the whole time i didnt need the exe? damn i feel like fool :(

then once i x out the run game thingie just file thingi not the mta client it says u have not specified the correct path to the correct exutable(gta-vc.exe)

Uh... okay, here it goes.

Its looking for the executable, evidently.

Browse to where your game is installed (Probably somewhere in Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA:VC or something, I really dont know, I often do not install to default paths), and you will find this file.

Double-click on that file, and the game will launch.

DO THIS WHILE BROWSING IN MTA:VC.

Get it now?

lol dude, just trust us, U NEED MTA-VC.EXE TO RUN THE GAME there problem solved

Posted

would gta-vc.exe be my gta vc directatory file :?:

Posted

gta vc is the executable, as in there isnt a program on earth that will run without one

Posted

gta-vc.exe is the actual program itself.

It runs, and starts up the game, loads all the files, reads the main.scm... etc.

Posted

k the only file close to it was called gta-vc and the picture thingie next to it had the sexy lady

Posted

Oh, ya, that'd be gta-vc.exe... Windows XP simply hides the .exe part from you.

I love how he said he deleted the entire Rockstar folder earlier because he didn't think you needed it and said it was taking up too much space...
