soot Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 (edited) Please note that this is NOT when mta:dm will be released but an ESTIMATE based on what we are given. Inspired by mdm13: forget it... I think they will advance to beta stages by the end of december and release it early April Edited October 20, 2006 by Guest
0 orappa Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 People got confused when Race went from beta to semi-public beta (horrible name), so for DM we changed the name from beta to alpha. DM is currently in alpha stage and will progress to a beta with more players, chosen by invitation. Then it will enter Release Candidate (RC) stage when it is considered to ready for release. RC stage should be very short. MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. MTA:SA Troubleshooting - Read this first if you have problems.
0 :Rob Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I definitely didnt get the part on semi public / public beta. Seemed like an extension of the same thing -Rob [LVG]Captain Proper Posting & Grammar Master. Retired FKU Member My motto: When in doubt, use a stubby!

0 Vicer/Spitfire Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I like your estimation. The team have been working on it for like, five or six months now, and it seems closer to a release. Time really flies by.
0 Jani Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Definately not before 2007. Make sure to use the Search feature before posting a new topic. Click here for detailed MTA: San Andreas server setup guides.

0 ijsf Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Please remember that no-one in this forum, except for QA team members and developers, have any idea of how when it's going to be released, as been said in the first post. We've always maintained a "it's done when it's done"-policy on this (unlike commercial projects). We do plan our features and changes, but it's very hard to tell how long each feature will take, since not everyone is around all the time. We're pretty far ahead. Although, not everything is done yet.

0 soot Posted October 18, 2006 Author Posted October 18, 2006 Im starting to regret this, after thinking about it and like IJs said its just silly trying to determine when something is released without actually knowing about it. DUH!! Dont know what I was thinking. Sorry. Maybe someone on the team could provide an actual estimate and then bumb it back each time something goes wrong so we can get an idea.
0 lil Toady Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Maybe someone on the team could provide an actual estimate and then bumb it back each time something goes wrong so we can get an idea. Im sure that then there will be people bitching about the release date if it delays Do not PM me, im not going to read it anyway.

0 soot Posted October 18, 2006 Author Posted October 18, 2006 Im sure that then there will be people bitching about the release date if it delays Surely if you took the proper precautions something like this can be adverted.
0 orappa Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 It's happened many times before, so the team stopped giving out dates. MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. MTA:SA Troubleshooting - Read this first if you have problems.

0 Brophy Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Definately not before 2007. that stinks i was hoping before christmas That was a guess, no one knows the exact date
0 darkdreamingdan Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Yeah, Jani decided he was above everyone to know the progress of MTA. VCP FOREVER!
0 zerb Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Every development has its haults throughout the progress of its specific creation, even this modification has no exception. We all want to see this released as soon as possible, but with the discussing of dates just leads to all different kinds of rumors and the public becoming more anxious then their previous standard.

I can totally respect that, thanks for letting me know.
0 Vicer/Spitfire Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 im guessing it will come out in 2 months. Probably at the earliest, but now I think in about 4 - 5 months.
0 orappa Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Where are these estimates coming from? You don't have any evidence to support them. MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. MTA:SA Troubleshooting - Read this first if you have problems.
