[Blog] Internal beta 18 released (By eAi)

We've just released our internal beta version 18. We're really happy with how this looks, it may be renamed Release Candidate 1 (for info on what Release Candidates are, see previous posts), depending if any issues crop up when testing. We've fixed 45 issues in this beta, the majority of which are minor and only a couple were introduced in beta 17 (which is a good sign!). I personally worked on making the editor easier to use and ChrML has worked on some of the game logic and fixed a memory leak (we think there may be one more though ) Oli has fixed a few issues server-side relating to admin and similar things. There are very few issues remaining from previous beta versions, and we obviously hope we haven't introduced any new ones in this beta.

Well, there’s not much more to say - we hope everyone had a good new years day!

March to June? You must be shitting me.

Release candidate

The term release candidate refers to a final product, ready to release unless fatal bugs emerge. In this stage, the product features all designed functionalities and no known showstopper class bugs. Microsoft Corporation often uses the term release candidate. Other terms include gamma (and occasionally also delta, and perhaps even more Greek letters) for versions that are substantially complete, but still under test, and omega for final testing of versions that are believed to be bug-free, and may go into production at any time. (To many software testers, Gamma testing is an informal phrase that refers derisively to the release of "buggy" or defect-ridden products. It is not a term of art among testers, but rather an example of referential humor.) Gamma, delta, and omega are, respectively, the third, fourth, and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Some users disparagingly refer to release candidates and even final "point oh" releases as "gamma test" software, suggesting that the developer has chosen to use its customers to test software that is not truly ready for general release. Often, beta testers, if privately selected, will be billed for using the release candidate as though it were a finished product.

Maybe I over exaggerated the time for the final public release.

Hmm.. No more features added to R1, hopefully no bugs, etc. Yep, seems quite accurate :)

Is that the new thing called sarcasm or are you agreeing on what I said?

Rofl? Remember to clean the floor while you do that! I had carpet once and I was smoking a joi… Um, forget about that.

3 HOUR DOWNLOAD? HOLY SHIT!

What connection are you on?

My connection works by the yell-out system. The yell-out system works by a guy across my street yelling out to another guy across the street and so on. It finally ends up to the ips dude, which then yells out a few data codes (0111010010) to his guy (across his street) and then ends up to me (via my guy across my street). I type it in my computer and then I yell out to my guy to tell the ips dude I need more data. There is a 90% chance of a wrong code so that takes a while to confirmed all the data. Fast hey?
