Blue has a remote admin tool that can be used with the server from anywhere. Will let you chat, kick, ban etc...
-
Now why the hell bump this one year old thread up again? Read our blog at http://www.mtavc.com/blog for updates on MTA:SA (besides SA is only a few months old). It's not far from release. Locked!
-
Read our blog to see how MTA: SA is progressing. MTA: SA is built on the Blue core so it is Blue.
-
Not at the moment, but it's pretty easy to do so. We'll save it for the 2nd release though, as there are very many similar small TODO's with about the same priority and we haven't got time to do them all.
-
They aren't synced and works like in SP. The radio does start at the same place each time though, I've noticed, but that can easily be fixed. We can quite easily randomize where the radio will start.

That's called reverse compiling (aka decompiling). Nothing can convert machine code to good C++ because it's pretty impossible. Reason is that C++ has complex functions converted into simple machine code and there's no way it could reconstruct a C++ compatible source using it. You can convert machine code to assembly though and that's pretty easy, but after all, assembly is nothing but human readable machine code and huge programs decompiled are not easy to read in assembly at all (it would take you ages to understand everything). Java is an another language compiled to a binary format (not machine code). Java can actually be decompiled back to pretty nice Java code (haha, too bad for the close sourced Java programmers). Also programs written in assembly (well, pretty few people actually write windows programs in assembly) can be decompiled back to an almost identical assembly code and thus also be easier to understand, but still damn hard.

Jigga: Sorry Scm is nothing like C++

Because MTA is compiled from C++. What you see when you open an executable (.exe) in notepad is plain machine binary code compiled from C++. If MTA was purely Open Source, you could download the source and view it as C++ and eventually compile an .exe yourself. The final version of MTA "blue" will have many parts that are open source even though most of the core parts will remain closed.
-
I think he meant programming language. 0.5 and Blue are written in C++. Add-ons / game modes for Blue must also be written using C++.
-
It could be encoded and streamed just like the voice speech, but I can't imagine we doing this until we have a full featured release out. I can't guarantee, but it sounds cool though.

Ransom: Eh, sorry for asking, but what is a paper towel roll doing next to your PC.. heh
-
We tried the AT-400 multiplayer That was pretty cool . Nice ideas! We probably won't make those games into the racemod, but there's no reason why you can't make .race files to play that in our racemod (hint hint, the "surprise"). Kinda like how people play the Dodo game in GTA3

I disabled ASE reporting in my server because we haven't enabled encryption for our network protocol yet, so people had fun sending connection packets to it
-
My network is 10.x.x.x. That was also the IP range in the last LAN I was at.
-
Yeah, would be cool for RPG's and such if the ingame time always equals the servers real-time. Something for RPG mods for Blue.
-
Thanks, I appreciate I might actually use it
-
Why would you register your LAN server at ASE? You can just join it by IP...
-
You can pretty easily host MTA (assuming you talk about 0.5) at a LAN. You have to set up a server and it's configuration at one computer (like any other game at LAN), then in the client connection dialog you simply put the host computer's LAN IP into it (for example 10.0.0.5) and hit Connect . It will be just as easy in Blue.

Gameplay update (17/08/2005 @ 01:09 CET) by Blokker_1999
ChrML replied to Blokker_1999's topic in News
yes but that's usually in your own vehicle, but when his buddy changed vehicles it happened anyways back to the subject (whatever it is) Yeah, we are aware of that bug. It's probably releated to the engine sound issue. -
Actually there aren't many bugs for the moment Only inconsistencies.

Been quite a while since i last posted, what can i say?!

Blue will support VC, GTA3, and SA from start?
ChrML replied to troyBORG's topic in General Blue discussion
I guess what most people want is the Dodo physics in the VC engine. Other than that, I've tried GTA: LC and I'm very impressed. I watched the intro cutscene and did a few missions. Very nice! -
Blue will support VC, GTA3, and SA from start?
ChrML replied to troyBORG's topic in General Blue discussion
It's very very much work to add support to an another GTA release, so as troyBORG said, it's for SA for the first releases. Then we'll extend to VC. We probably won't make Blue available for GTA3 unless there's enough demand for it. -
MAVERICK: Still Caps Lock on.. I still don't bother reading it.

Is mta vc site going down? SCARED like Hell.
ChrML replied to god4u's topic in General MTA discussion
The rumours are false. The MTA site won't go down
