you can easily get to onto those things by just jumping from the ledge down to there. theres no way to get back up though. but nice landing anyways -
Wireless Connections Cause Lag in MTA?
erorr404 replied to erorr404's topic in General MTA discussion
i saw it, thats unrelated to this. i dont have a problem with timeouts - i have a problem with my ping getting high during fights when im on a wireless connection. -
hi, im on a wireless router and have a wireless PCI network adapter on my machine. i have ADSL connection (1.5mbps down, 384 up). when im plugged in directly through the DSL modem i get very good ping and never had lag issues in MTA:3 or MTA:VC. but when im plugged in through wireless router (which i usually am) my ping is higher. on DSL modem its usually 40 to 80 (on the fast servers ofcourse), but through my wireless router its around 80 to 100 (at least its like that in the client, but rises a bit when i open the game when im on wireless). the major problem though, is that when i get into a fight (or when i see a few other players on screen), my ping jumps drastically to 200 or 300. i get no such problems at all when im connected directly through DSL modem (ie ping jumping so much during fights). i was just wondering if anyone else uses a wireless connection to play MTA and if they experience these problems. extra info: im connected through wireless router at 11mbps, and am able to get my full download speed of 160KB/s, and upload of 40KB/s.

ive had this exact same problem before and it was due to instability caused by my power supply. the voltages were way off and i would get alarms in motherboard monitoring programs. i got a new 400 watt power supply (old one was a ceap 430W that came with my case), and it solved ALL of those problems. if you dont already have a motherboard monitoring utility, you can find your motherboard at your manufacturers website and look for one under the files section. or you can use a third party utlity like MBM 5 (http://mbm.livewiredev.com/) to check your voltages. i think its worth a try.

those are good ideas, the server should definately store money, and if possible, the weapons and ammo you had before you crashed. -the anim jump when a car is going toward you definately makes the situation worse rather than better, but i dont think its too big of a deal. -M16 is a good idea to add. i think there should be weapons stat changes so that the M16 is the long range gun in the game and the AK is the most powerful (or 2nd to the shotgun). i dont think it should be that expensive though. also, nades and mollies should definately be implemented in the future.

so this is it? car killing will be allowed on the PARTYSERVER from now on? what about those of us who dont like it? ive found no trouble in the past informing people that car killing isnt allowed, and even if they dont know that when they join the server (although i think the vast majority of newbies know exactly what it is), they will know once they run someone over because people will tell them. they will only get voted out or kicked if they do it again, and again, after a few warnings. i have never seen people unfairly kicked off the server for car killing, without having a chance to change their ways. and i just do not see the arguement that it is too much of a hassle to enforce the rule. i have had no trouble in the past votekicking car killers with the approval of most of the server, so i dont think the job it is too tough for the admins. the issue here isnt what everyone is making it out to be, ie, learning to dodge cars and watching your back. i know perfectly well how to do that but i still dont want car killing to be allowed. the major problem with car killing allowed is that there are MANY noobs who come to the server to car kill, and only car kill. you can dodge them for 5 minutes, shoot up their car, but all they will do is sprint to the nearest vehicle and start the process all over again. these people are extremely annoying and most of the time they are not not worth chasing. i also do not enjoy the 'rush' of dodging cars when fighting in, say, a big gun battle at ammunation. it IS NOT fair to go out and manage to shoot and kill a couple of people without dying yourself, finally being able to buy that AK or flamethrower, then getting run over all of the sudden by an infernus going 120mph, losing ALL of your hard earned weapons, and 1000 dollars in cash. the only true solution to this issue would be to have two seperate good servers - one with car killing allowed, and one with car killing banned. this is only possible though if the GTA3 community grows because right now, there are rarely ever over 20 people playing GTA3:MTA on all servers combined.

GTA:VC is by far the most popular of the two on MTA. GTA:VC does not crash nearly as much as GTA3 (at least for me), but i still prefer GTA3 because of its money system which VC does not have, and its Turismo races. plus i like the GTA3 atmosphere in general more than VC's, so that influences my opinion. it is just a matter of preference though.

i dont think thats a required field, so you can just leave it commented out. thats what i did and the server worked fine.

i havent had (erm, remembered) a dream for a very very long time. but one thing that is really strange that happens to me while im asleep is sometimes i am sort of awake, but i cant move. my mind is awake but my body cant move. i know that my mind is awake because i am fully aware that nothing happens when i try to move my leg or my arm or even open my eyelid. it happens rarely though. it was pretty scary the first and second time that it happened, but now when it happens i realize its no big deal. does anyone else ever get this, or has anyone heard of it?

you dont need a trainer, you just need the console . i definately want to play this game fairly though, the way it was meant to be played. i was thinking of maybe turning on the TV or turning on the lights to reduce the scariness.. but i thought nahh, thats not how its should be played .
-
i wasnt suggesting that it matters whether or not this was a gaming console.

okay i think that i now know why i cant play this game for more than an hour: because it isnt FUN. it is SCARY AS HELL. seriously.. its not fun for me to play this game BECAUSE its too scary. it is scarier than any movie i have ever seen and obviously any game ive ever played. the sounds, the monsters popping out, the whispers, the voices, the evil laughs..... it is all just to much . and there is SO MUCH gore on the current level that im on, that the game isnt enjoyable, its just plain sick. there are places with bodies and body parts littered all over the place. it just makes you think, WTF happened in here? not that any of this is a bad thing.

here is my new desktop

what do you mean pirated CD keys - pirated CD keys for what??
-
that is crazy... were those kids even payed to do it? how the hell can anyone do such a violent thing........ because of an XBOX
-
this game is just brilliant, also way too scary for me... i can only play it for an hour max for some reason. i dare someone to turn it on at night, lights out, sound up, and play it for a couple of hours straight . the game can get a bit repetitive at times though... you walk into the middle of a room, monsters spawn around you, you kill them, go into the next room, rinse, wash, and repeat. other than that it has lots of very original parts that are scary as hell that i dont wanna mention cause they're spoilers . what level is everyone on? im on Communications Transfer. it seems to get scarier with every level. PS: does anyone know who the hell those two guys are that you keep catching up to? the guy with sunglasses and his bodygaurd?? they seem to be military guys, so does the sunglasses guy have a higher rank than Sgt. Kelly? dont tell me anything i wouldnt know from playing up to Enpro level though. PS2: does anyone with a non-DX9-compatible video card have trouble seeing the place light up when you fire weapons in the dark? when i fire a weapon it emits no light onto the environment whatsoever, i have a Ti-4200.

i just have one question for any of the devs: has anyone played any of the Microsoft Midtown Madness series games?

die -> robber spawn -> crash [most of the time]
erorr404 replied to Lara C.'s topic in General MTA:VC
i have this exact same problem when im on big servers, and it happens to me as often as he describes.. i crash every second or third time i spawn as a robber. i always let everything load - i wait for the environment to load completely before pressing enter to select my charecter, and i wait for everything around me to load once i spawn as robber, before i start walking/moving the mouse/doing anything. i mostly play robber, so i dont know whether or not this happens as frequently with other charecters. about the spawn wars.. i have no problems with them.. in fact i think they are fun - you dont have to drive all the way to the fight when you die - you can just spawn right next to the action. you shouldnt have a problem getting out of there if u spawn in one either - you wont get hurt if you sprint straight out of there. i loved spawn wars at the old robber house, they seem much less frequent in 0.4 than in 0.3 though.
