There are times where this would be problematic, like when there are two or three people driving around on a free roam map doing nothing, and 20 others waiting in spectator mode. I do agree that there is an issue with people voting for a new map in the middle of a race though.. voting should be time regulated (like no more than 1 vote per minute).

What's the point of that thread if you can upload and discuss them on the new site?

If you want to try it on your own in the editor, save it to C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas\mods\map_editor\maps If you want to play it on a server, most should already have it.

X (length), Y (width), Z (height) It might be easier to change it in the .map file though so you don't have to re-enter the X and Y every time if you just want to change the Z.

FINALLY... The big word is out... We all know that VC stunting owns so much more then SA stunting! I hope a true modder hears my prayer. Is it better because it's more realistic, or just more fun? It's more fun because of the crazy unrealstic stuff you can do like 20 second grinds and 10,000 degree spins. Does anyone know if R* intentionally designed the physics so these stunts would be possible or was it more of a glitch?

np. If you mean it doesn't show in the server browser, you have to enable ASE to 1 in the .conf file.

Welcome to the MTA forums! MTA: SA is by far the most popular GTA multiplayer modification. I'm sure the developers can give you some more info on how it works, but it uses a dll to run along side GTA: SA instead of modifying the original process as in previous versions. You can have 32 players max in a server. You can find the FAQ here: http://www.mtasa.com/docu/index.php/Docu

As I said you can change it in the mtaserver.conf file... open it with notepad and you'll figure it out. As for the race, it should be on the server if it's in the proper directory (server\mods\race\maps). Try restarting the server or wait for it to update race list.
-
That is done in the mtaserver.conf file (C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas\server\mods\race). To get your map on your server, put the .map file into C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas\server\mods\race\maps.
-
In the editor? Map name can be changed under race settings. Maximum players is the amount of spawnpoints you put in a map.
-
Yeah, MTA: SA only supports GTA: SA 1.0. Maybe you can get a hold of a 1.0 .exe but I'm not sure if that would work.
-
Run 'MTA Server.exe' in C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas\server

I think you'll find its significantly more than that, the pile-ups on the motorways and faster roads can involve many more. i challenge you to show me a pile up of more than 5 non-blown up cars. more cars arrive on top of the pile up if one or two of the original ones blow up It is possible, I just did it with 9 non blown up cars. Wish I could post it by imageshack seems to be down (or maybe my upload speed is just dead).

Try lowering hardware acceleration (under sounds and audo devices in the control panel) to basic.

Yeah you definately need to be able to beat all the other hydra races before taking on this one.

How many races of the 70 in the release package have you tried? There are races of every variety, some with more turns than others. Just because not all of the races are drag races as you would prefer, doesn't mean they suck. If you have tried all 70 races (and I'm sure you have, otherwise you wouldn't be able to make that claim) you would see that there really is every type of race you can make, from straight drag races to races with lot's of turns. And respawning may be important but definately doesn't 'kill the whole moment of the game.' That is just rediculous, lol. It would be useful for free roam maps, but how many other online racing games are there where you can respawn after getting knocked out of a race? I've played around 50-70, and the only ones I like are the non race maps like destruction derby, and break. I did play a few custom made maps, and found them to be a lot better than what MTA: SA came with, but thats just my opinion. BTW MC3 lets you respawn after you wrecked your car, but that's not the point. Lol, course ya have. I guess that is just your opinion, but it is pretty irrational since again, there are races of virtually every variety in the mod, you would think that at least a couple of them would appeal to you unless you don't like races period.

I use the d-pad so my left arm is free to press ctrl or anything on the left side of the keyboard.
-
What's wrong with the camera angles? You mean camera controls? edit: If I recall correctly you can press F3 when you have a checkpoint selected, and re-enter the position. Or you can just open the .map up in notepad.

It shouldn't be in race, if you die.. your fault, wait for the race to end. For freeroam and DM maps it's useful though.

Lol, nice proof. Just because you were able to run the game with your processor doesn't mean it's better than the one that was recommended. You have no evidence that the game wouldn't work twice as well on a 2.55GHz P4, or slower P4 (not saying it will, just pointing out your irrationality). And uhh, here are the requirements for SoF2:

Visit that link and choose one of the servers (any one) in the list to download the mod from, then open the file you downloaded and follow the instructions (ie just keep pressing next) and it will install. Then open the MTA shortcut on your desktop to start the game. Use the server browser to join a game and start playing. It is driving only, no shooting on foot.

Another idea - ability to spawn at a certain players location (like spawning with you squad in BF2). Would be pretty usedful if you and your friends were roaming around San Andreas, and one of you died. You could just respawn behind them and continue. The issue with this would be to make sure you don't get spawned in a wall/building and on the proper Z if it has a higher elevation. This can also be a solution to what eai said.
