having yer pagefile on another disk can cause more crashing actually, depending on the chipset/ide bus controller. my suggestion, if you want to try this for yourself, use a partition on the same disk. as far as preperation goes, a defrag couldn't hurt.
-
make sure you arent in compatiblty mode, and your install of vc is a LEGAL INSTALL from the disks, without any modifications/cracks

heya tf. what time are you guys on most? you seem like a decent bunch a killers
-
hope to see you guys ingame. always like meeting non-cheater gangs. (too many cheater gangs these days)

okay, here's a proposed solution to stubby takedowns (and the whining about them), now as many people know if they ever meet me ingame, i'm pro stubby. it takes timing, lag prediction, and close range. But I'm the first to admit, takedowns are lame. barely takes skill to time it for when they get up. I for one, find myself walking away from someone lying on the ground, just for the sport of it. mta devs, yer the uber programmers, is this possible: the person gets knocked down. and they stay down untill they press a button (any button, doesnt matter). now, there is no perfect timing to takedowns, there is an element of skill, as the person can choose when they stand. of course a time limit to standing up is a must. we can't have people curling up into the fetal position every time they get knocked down.( like the damn pausers do

first install windows on yer primary partition, then install linux. use the "auto alocate" button if it's an options. or heres a amall guide /= depends on the distrobution/how much you are installing. swap= should be slightly bigger than the amount of Ram you have /home= as big as you can get it, this is where all the user files go

blinking cursor = fubars boot.ini or other system files. i would try doing a repair install of xp if ithe boot.ini isnt the problem. note: xp really doesnt like not being on the primary partition

DON'T call me a paint n00b, cause i POON YOU in paint ahem....mta team, if yer not busy. MULTIPLAYER PAINT!...wait. micro$oft already made that. its netmeeting -
hes asking if the 100% mark on the progress bar marks the release, or if a new progress bar for the client will start after that one reaches 100.
-
the replay buttons are a source of anger for many mta players. it results in having to restart the game (not the client) is there not a way that the next client can block them from working. i know, we can remap the keys ourselves, but it might just be better for them to be disabled altogether

HELP Multi theft auto - 2 players on cross-over network HOW?
Slothman replied to a topic in General MTA discussion
my mistake actually, if yer using a usb modem, then you dont need an extre network card. what you need to do is enable "internet connection sharing" for the computer hooked up the the modem. or......get a damn router -
HELP Multi theft auto - 2 players on cross-over network HOW?
Slothman replied to a topic in General MTA discussion
yes, it is possible, but if yer using a crossover cable, not a router or a hub, then one of them will need a second network card -
heh, next thing you know people will compete to have the largest log file.... unless theres a way to eliminate the older chat when the new chat is brought in, so the file doesnt grow to a gig

Wireless Connections Cause Lag in MTA?
Slothman replied to erorr404's topic in General MTA discussion
actually, high ping is the cause of timeouts, so this article is in fact related, at least try it. -
i like that idea, like putting the ammunation in chinatown. ( a central location, thats innacessable by cars) the only reason the boat isnt used often is cause its way off to one side of portland (but man fights are fun there) maybe i'll start making a concious effort to take fights to more remote locations

lol, a blasta thread dieing! that's like a fart not smelling! your claim to fame is random useless posts!
-
hell bump, i don't care about score or money, i care about how much bullets i have and how many people there are to fight as far as nutz suggestion, i know it doesn't report the car killas as actual kills, but can an admin still see who's car killing? (mtama in particular), if yes, an mtama script would be easy.

HELP Multi theft auto - 2 players on cross-over network HOW?
Slothman replied to a topic in General MTA discussion
cheese, are you asking how to set up the network as well? http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;150575 -
bah, i don't think anyone thought about it. it's a game that people played with helicopters on the robber spawn roof in .3. I'ts much better with dodos cause it takes skill to fly

i was hoping for more info about your character, maybe his voice. or at least a bit of action. overall sa looks beutifull, that smog ceiling is awesome
-
good to hear, next question, vc 1.1, or 1.0?
-
what operating system? if you say anything but 2000/xp............
-
flatbed=awesome idea. we could car surf pretty easy that way. server side money is definitly a good idea, although the occasional crash was a blessing, as i was broke at the time . couple this with server side scores, as i always wondered why not have the server keep your score for a while after a disconnect, i think you guys said it was due to playerid being the main way of determining whos who, and that changes on a reconnect sometimes

truly impressed oli. question: can you make the crime commited message reflect actual ingame events ? ie: -playerx is wanted for killng (playerx's score) amount of people -playerx is wanted for stealing a (playerx's current vehicle) -playerx is trespassing in (playerx's location)
