You are probably using an outdated version of MTA. The current stable release (MTA SA: 1.0) has gamepad support.

Use Game-Monitor for a list of servers as an alternative until your issue is fixed.

Do all servers time out and did this problem occur from start?

Only the host must open ports. Does he get any error code when he times out?

Makre sure the admin resource is on. Open the mtaserver.conf file located in C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas\server\mods\deathmatch (default) with notepad. Scroll down to and add <resource src="admin" startup="1" protected="0" /> I was told the account system is handled by the admin resource.

You can disable blur from the admin panel in the server settings tab.

pacocrowley try using windowed mode which will help to minimize and end the process instead of having to reboot. As for fixing the crashes try using the latest driver available. (freezes issue) @Freestyleh7 Could you upload a dump?

I have XP x64 and I did not encounter any problems. Just let it install.

Did you try pressing F1>map and double clicking somewhere on the map to spawn?

This is in a Non-MTA relates section, but it is related to MTA. Anyway great server, the implementation of custom handling would be great for this.

Then did you try updating your race resource?

I believe you can only remove them manually right now, how about requesting this feature on the tracker?

He meant by downgrading to MTA Race 1.1.1 which is what I do not suggest.

MTA Race is unsupported, most of the MTA Race community has migrated to MTA SA 1.0 (current stable release) and you should do that too. If you must know 1.1.2 gave a working in-game browser but broke some other things like the pick up visibilities. Note that you can also race in MTA SA 1.0. Read this for more info

lil_Toady was the last developer working on it, not sure if he handed it on to someone but it was coming out quite well. There was a beta test back in DP3 which included a 'working' ped and traffic resource.
